Planetary Protectors

Chapter 8

It was a long boring trip, but they finally reached Planet Penza. Hiko knew to take them there, because he has a buddy there that knows alot about what's currently going on with the Kaizarr. Their ship landed at the Port, and they all hopped out of the ship. "Ahhhhh, finally! It's good to be out of the ship to stretch our legs." Kane said enthusiastically.
"Well now that we're here, we need to go see my good buddy Pete, he knows alot about the Kaizarr. Only because he's a bit paranoid about what their plans are." Hiko said.
"So where is this Pete at?" Alyssa asked.
"He lives in a house near the clinic, just follow me and I'll show you the way." Hiko answered.
Kane and Alyssa followed Hiko through the streets of the marketplace, passing by many diverse aliens of different species. Some that reminded Kane of creatures on his home planet Earth, and others that would just make you think, "What even is that thing?!"
From what they saw, Planet Penza seemed to be mostly a massive, bust city, but outside of the city, it was similar to Earth. Except the air is much thicker, the sky is more purple rather than blue, and the grass is orange rather than green. They walked past the clinic, Kane noticed the sign outside the building read, Huford Clinic. Hiko stopped walking and said, "Man, I have many good memories of this clinic. Oh! Like the time I accidentally shot my foot while doing target practice. Or the time I electrocuted myself pretty badly trying to set up intergalactic TV on my entertainment system."
"Yeah, sounds like great memories." Kane mumbled.
Sitting next to the clinic, was a small hut, which looked kind of primitive. Hiko walked up to the hut and told them,
"Alright, this is Pete's house, let me show you inside." Hiko started nocking on the door, but no one answered. "Hey! Pete! Pete get out here!" No one came to the door.
"Oh that's right! He must be in his secret room! Ok we just need to walk in ourselves, don't worry the door is not locked, he doesn't believe in locking doors." Hiko opened the door and let everyone inside. "Wow. This place looks like a dump." Alyssa proclaimed. Inside chairs were tipped over, papers were strewn everywhere, trash was thrown all over the place. "And your friend Pete is supposed to be in here? I find that hard to believe, unless of course he has some kind of hidden underground lair or something." Kane said sarcastically. Hiko looked at him suspiciously. "How did you know that?" Hiko asked. "Oh um, just a lucky guess I suppose?" Kane replied.
"Anyways, there's a way to open a passage to a secret hideout, I don't really remember how to open it, so just start throwing garbage around and see what happens."
Everyone just started grabbing stuff and moving and throwing it around. They spent around an hour trying to open the passageway, but they had no luck. At least until Alyssa grabbed a piece of scrapped metal buried beneath a pile of scrapped tissue paper. The scrap metal had a string attached underneath it, which went underground. A loud rumbling noise began, and the ground started opening up to reveal a staircase heading underground. "Yes! I found the entrance to the hideout! Now let's go and find Pete!" Alyssa said excitedly. Hiko looked in shock that Alyssa found the entrance. They started walking down the staircase, and as they got deeper it began to get darker. Eventually, they reached the bottom of the stairs, and it opened up into a large room. The room was made of metal, and there were alot of bright, laser style lights throughout the room. Hanging on the walls were alot of random papers with random notes scribbled on them. Kane noticed a young man, with an extremely long beard, sitting at a desk scribbling on a piece of paper, mumbling what sounded like jibberish. Hiko ran up to the man and shouted,
"Hey! Pete!"
"Ah! Hiko! You've finally came to see me after, oh what was it, 3 years?" Pete said.
"Yeah, yeah, I've been busy with some things, but hey! Look at you! You haven't changed a single bit!"
"Well except for my long beard I'm the same as I always have been. Now I know you didn't come for a chat, so what do you want?"
"Well me and my partners here need to know what's been going on with the Kaizarr lately."
"Very well. Let's see here. So recently, the Kaizarr have been collecting resources and energy from their many stations that collect various resources. Also recently the Kaizarr have taken control over 2 new planets, which are, Tonkulus, and Raush. Their plan for dominating the universe seems to be working for them. Oh, and also, on the Kaizarr's mining station on planet Mercury, there was a young girl around the age of 14, who attempted to escape from the facility, but was caught. So she was sent to solitary confinement on the massive Kaizarr ship orbiting around Mercury. Her prisoner ID is #6912304358822, and her name is Reina Watsuki."
"Wait, Reina! I know Reina! She's my sister! I'm her brother Kane! I need to save her!" Kane exclaimed.
"Well that's going to be incredibly difficult for you. That Kaizarr ship has lots and lots of security on it. Almost impossible to infiltrate." Pete responded.
"Well I'm going to find a way to break in there and save my sister! And I'll have your help too, right guys?" Kane asked.
"Of course!" Replied Alyssa happily.
"Well sure, I mean we've gone this far together, why stop now?" Hiko answered.
"Ok great! Well thank you for all the information Pete! We better get going, we've got alot of planning to do!" Kane told them.
"Wait. Before you go, if you insist on going through with this, I know something that might help you on your mission. If you don't mind making a detour." Pete proclaimed.
"What is it?" Kane asked.
"In the middle of the harsh deserts of Planet Lophos, lies some ancient ruins from over 25,000 years ago. Inside those ruins is an old hermit who guards somethings that can help you all."
"Well that doesn't seem too bad I guess, it's worth a look." Kane responded.
"Alright, we better get going now. We have alot ahead of us. Thanks for everything Pete!" Alyssa said excitedly.
"Alright see ya. I better get back to my work." Pete replied.
Then they all went back up the stairs and left Pete's hut. They made their way through the marketplace, and through the busy streets of the city. Kane saw their ship, still parked at the space port. Kane hopped in the pilots seat, excited to begin the next chapter of their journey. Alyssa and Hiko followed behind, with Alyssa hopping in the co-pilot seat, and Hiko getting in the back. The ship lifted off and left orbit of Planet Penza, heading straight for their next destination, Planet Lophos.
