Chapter 15

"No! I will not go with you!" Dromca demanded.
"Aww, why won't you come with us?" Alyssa asked.
"How can you expect me to just go along with a group of strangers who broke into my cave? Why do you even need me anyways?"
"Well Dromca, we need you to help us save the universe." Kane simply stated.
"Hmph. I might consider coming with you, if you tell me the current state of the universe." Dromca offered.
So Kane and Alyssa told him all about what was going on. The Kaizarr Empire rising to power, all the tragic events that have unfolded, and Kane even mentioned about how his family died, and his sister being taken away.
"Well, that does sound like the universe needs rescued. Are you sure that I'm capable, and destined for this?" Dromca asked.
"There's only one way to find out. Come with us to the temple on Lophos. Then we can really find out if you are or not." Alyssa told him.
"Very well. If I'm not chosen for this, you two owe me big time." Dromca stated.
"Of course." Kane replied.
They left the cave, and started walking through the swamp.
"Wait. Is there even a ship here?" Kane asked.
"Well, there is one I know of. The ship that a strange man was in, when he got stranded here. I'll show you where it is." Dromca responded.
Dromca led them through the swamp, over some hills, to a large open area perfect for landing spacecraft. There Kane noticed a ship parked there.
"Wow! A rare model-N Star Cruiser! And in perfect condition!" Kane shouted excitedly.
"I would have left here long ago with this ship. If only I knew how to pilot one, and if there was anyone here to teach me." Dromca said.
"Well we know how to fly ships, so we can get you out of here in no time." Alyssa told him, as she got in the
co-pilot seat.
So they all got in the ship, and they flew off, heading towards Lophos.
"So, Alyssa, even though there were alien creatures that tried to kill us back there, it was nice getting to be alone with you on this mission." Kane told her.
"Aww. Yeah despite that, I enjoyed this time with you too." Alyssa replied.
"Hmm, it seems like you two like each other, if I do say so myself." Dromca teased.
"I-its not like that!" Kane and Alyssa both cried out, blushing.
"Whatever you say, but you can't always deny your true feelings." Dromca informed them.
The rest of the trip to Lophos was very silent. Dromca in the back was picking at his teeth, and fiddling around with the ships tech in the backseat. Alyssa would occasionally stare over at Kane, but look away whenever he looked back at her, but she also though about how she falls into play in saving the universe. "Kane has such a noble and heroic cause for fighting the Kaizarr. Saving his sister and avenging his family. That's so brave and inspiring. But I have no reason to be doing it. I mean, I'm just doing it because a cute boy is doing it too." Alyssa thought to herself. They finally arrived at Lophos, Kane landed the ship close to the Temple, but not too close. Just in case another Kaizarr invasion happened. He didn't want this nice ship to be destroyed on his watch.
"Alright Dromca, inside that temple is where we're headed next." Kane alerted him.
"Lead the way sir." Dromca replied.
So Kane led the way to the temple. It wasn't that far away so not much leading even needed done. When they got inside, Melman greeted them.
"Finally you got here. I've been waiting days for you to get back." Melman complained.
"What? I thought we were only gone for like a few hours." Alyssa stated.
"No, time goes by much faster where you were." Melman explained.
"Anyways, let's get to the main room so you can receive the sacred weapons." Melman told them.
So they went to the main room, and Melman started chanting an incantation. After the chant, five spots on the walls opened up. A weapon lying in each. "Alright, one at a time step up to the center of the room, and a weapon will choose you." Melman informed them.
"Oh hey, Kane, Alyssa. Good to see you again." Hiko greeted them.
"Good to see you too." Kane and Alyssa said.
"Looks like we both brought along the newbies. We'll have to catch up later." Hiko said.
Kane walked up to the center of the room, and a strange, blue light emitted off of him. Then the flaming falchion began to glow also. Then it flew into Kane's hand.
"Oh my. Looks like the flaming falchion of Bahamut chose you Kane." Melman stated.
"Of course you get the awesome sword." Hiko groaned.
Next Alyssa stepped up. She began to glow, then the bow glowed as well. It then flew into her hands.
"Ah, the aquatic bow and arrow of Zomok seems to have chosen you, Alyssa." Melman said.
Dromca walked to the center of the room next. He started to glow a yellow light, rather than the previous blue lights. Then the naginata polearm, stated to glow yellow also. It flew into Dromca's hands.
"Oohh, the naginata polearm of lighting, from the Raiju, has chosen you." Melman said.
Next Aria entered the center stage.
She glowed a dark purple light. Then the scythe began to glow the same color, and arrived into her hands.
"So the necromantic scythe of the wraiths chose you then." Melman said intrigued.
Finally, Hiko had his turn to go to the center. He glowed a green light. Then the kusarigama glowed the same light, and flew into his hands.
"And you get the final weapon, the earthen kusarigama of the forest spirits." Melman exclaimed.
"What?! Why am I stuck with the sissy forest spirit weapon?!" Hiko complained.
"It just wanted you, there's nothing we can do about it." Melman explained.
"Anyways, now that you have your weapons, you five are now officially, the Planetary Protectors."
