_____________________________________________________________

Earlier in the day Lyretta had explored a great deal of the palace, but had returned early for dinner.

Now her tears had kept her from clearly seeing where she was going.

As a result she was completely and thoroughly lost.

She had somehow made it to a rose garden, and there she had stood and hunched her head to silently cry into her hands. She had done that for some time. Soon the waives of disappointment and pain dulled down and she was able to stop her heavy sobs, replacing them with trails of soft tears.

She began to walk around the rose garden and let its beauty bring out happier emotions, after a few moments she found a small stone bench. She sat down and looked at the flowers.

It was now well into the night and the rose garden was lit by a few candle lights. The lighting made the flowers glow with a quiet beauty. It was very lovely and eye catching.

She sniffled as she took into the sight and she dried her tears, deciding that she wanted to see the rest of this garden.

She was surprised to find that at the next turn the rose bushes disappeared, and now she had entered a garden of cherry blossom trees. They were everywhere! The soft light from the candle lights could only enhance the beauty, she was surrounded by many different shades of pinks and whites.

She walked and looked at the variety of cherry blossom trees until her heart felt calm. Lyretta felt that this quiet and calming atmosphere was a good place to think about what had just happened. There was another stone bench in this garden, she sat down once more and took a thinking stance.

She really loved her sister, she really loved her father, she really really wanted to understand why they, especially her sister, could not accept her. Even if she was never named as part of the royal family, at least she wanted to have friendly relations with them.

No one had ever rejected her in the way her own blood sister had. At times when her aunt hired new servants they would look at her with a strange look in their eyes, but it did not take long before they started smiling at her and treating her with great kindness.

Lyretta suddenly stood bolt upright, could her sister be like those servants? Did she just need more time to know her and then they would be able to smile at each other? Her hands shook in excitement as she thought of the possibility.

Now the thought of the earlier tears she shed completely disappeared and instead she started thinking of the bright future she and her sister could share. Her face broke into a big toothy smile as she decided to go back to the castle and find her sister.
