"What is that, Aunt?" Lyretta looked at the trunk. It was large and the Soumi emblem was plated in gold at the very center of the trunk. It looked very old.

Marchioness Alitia caressed the it lovingly.

"Lyretta, did you know that your mother was supposed to be the queen? If not for the threat of war your father would have married her." Marchioness Alitia's faces took on a faraway look as her memories took her back to the past.

"Elder Sister, that looks so pretty! Are you making it for when you move to the palace?" A young woman of about 15 or 16 springs held in her hands the hem of a royal purple dress with gold trim.

"Yes, it is. I am making it so I can wear it on my wedding day. It has always been my dream to make my own wedding dress." The woman smiled at the young lady kneeling in front of her.

"I started making this dress almost a year ago in secret." A woman slightly older with similar looks to the younger woman looked at the dress and then at her sister lovingly.

"Someday when you get married, do the same. It is a wonderful feeling. Each stich holds the love I feel for Roin. When I wear it I hope that loves shows through." The older woman was Countess Kaliss of the Soumi clan, Marchioness Alitia's older sister.

"Elder Sister, are you sure you truly will marry King Roin? I have heard rumors..." Alitia was unsure of whether or not to say out loud what she had heard to her sister. Her sister had loved Prince, now King Roin for so very long, but recently there were talks that he would be marrying a Princess from a foreign country as a way to stave off war and also form an alliance.

The needle is Countess Kaliss' hand stilled.

"I want only for Roin to be happy. If that means that he will marry another.... I cannot interfere nor feel wronged. Moreso if it involves the peace of the Kingdom, though I do hope with all my heart that it does no come to that." Countess Kaliss looked at her little sister and her clear eyes showed that there was no deception in her words.

"I see." Alitia did not truly understand, but she knew that her sister had always been too kind for her own good. If she needed to sacrifice her own happiness for the good of King Roin, or for the good of the Kingdom she was certain her sister would do so.

Behind a pillar stood a young woman staring at a man talking with a woman. The woman's bright purple eyes shining with unshed tears.

"I will not marry you, the Princess of Nosen is now officially my betrothed." The man whose hands had been held by the young woman suddenly threw off her trembling hands and turned away from her.

The tears that shined brilliantly in the purple eyes overflowed and slowly trailed down the delicate face of the forlorn woman. The woman held her now empty hands to her chest.

"But Roin, what of our child?" The woman spoke with a teary voice. Her worry was not for herself, but for her unborn baby. If she did not marry then her child would be illegitimate. Roin had promised her marriage and she had whole heartedly believed him, in her heart his words never held deception. They had known each other for so long, since childhood. She had trusted him. She truly had.

Hearing her words the man stilled and quickly turned around.

"You- you are with child?!" The man walked back to stand in front of the woman excitement on his face.
