Chapter 19: Waiting

Kasalukuyang nagmamaneho ng kanyang sasakyan si Monica papuntang Grand View Hotel. Wesly canceled their meeting with his bestfriend Leo dahil sa isang hindi inaasahang pangyayari. He didn't tell her. Though she was confused about a sudden change, she just let go of it. Hindi na rin siya nagtanong dahil mukha itong nagmamadali habang kausap niya ito sa phone. She was almost ready when he called to inform her.

                Hindi nasayang ang pag-aayos niya dahil tumawag sa kanya si Dominic. They arrived last night from Singapore kasama ang kasintahan. At ngayo'y magkikita silang tatlo for the first time sa Hotel na tinutuluyan ng mga ito.

                Three weeks ago, he met Dominic sa Camarines Sur. He became her friend that day because of their one  mutual friend - Jarvis, who happened to be his boyfriend. And now she's going to meet both of them. Napakaliit lang talaga ng mundo.

                Pagdating niya'y pumasok siya kaagad sa lobby ng hotel and went straight to the information desk to ask their room number. They're at room 303, sa 12th floor ng hotel. She was told to call them first as soon as she arrives but she thought of surprising them. Bago niya tinungo ang elevator ay nahagilap ng kanyang tingin si Wesly na papasok pa lang sa restaurant ng hotel. She didn't expect to see him there. She snatched her phone from her bag and called his number. She just got a continuous ring. She started to feel uncomfortable and uneasy.

                Sinundan niya ng tingin si Wesly. Bago ito tuluyang makapasok, a woman wearing a sexy yellow dress appeared and hugged him right away. The hug lasted almost a minute before the woman let go of him. She couldn't explain what she felt after she saw Wesly, hugging another woman. Sa mga oras na iyon ay nararamdaman niyang nawalan siya ng lakas. She was more than curious so her sight followed them inside. Nakatayo siya sa labas kung saan hindi tanaw ng mga ito. The girl was crying while hugging him. Hinihimas nito ang likod ng babae. She remembered the same scene happened to Stephen. Nagkataon din na sa isang restaurant ito nangyari. She felt like something was ripping her heart and squeezing it at the same time. She could only feel too much pain that's almost unbearable.

                At that very moment, she wanted to cry but she's just holding the tears from falling. Gusto niyang isiping walang ginagawang masama si Wesly. She wanted to think that maybe the girl was just his friend. Friends do care for each other. Katulad ng tagpong natunghayan  niya kay Stephen, naaalala niyang hinalikan nito ang babae.

                No. Wesly won't kiss the girl. Hindi maaari. Sigaw niya sa isip.

                "When I come near you, I can't help but looking at your lips. I'd like to kiss them whenever I get a chance. I'd like to feel them against mine. Please don't stop kissing me. It's your lips that I would like to kiss forever."

                She will never forget those words Wesly said. Hindi niya alam kung makakaya ba niyang saksihan ang tagpong hahalikan ni Wesly ang babae. Kung gagawin man ni Wesly ito, ayaw niyang masaksihan ang tagpo. Minabuti niyang lisanin ang lugar at umuwi sa kanila.

                She's driving her car right now. Nasalubong niya si Stephen sa parking lot. Gusto nitong makipagbalikan sa kanya. Hindi pa rin siya nito tinantanan kahit sinabi na niyang may boyfriend na siya. Stephen is naturally persistent. He even asked her if it was Sly but she didn't give him any answer. There was no Sly. All she had was a story.

                She ended everything they had. Wala ng puwang makipagbalikan sa lalaking hindi na niya mahal at nagbigay ng sakit sa kanyang puso.

                At si Wesly? Hindi ba't ito ang dahilan kung bakit siya nasasaktan ngayon?

                She agreed on making their relationship for real. Tinanggap niya ang suhestiyon nito na hindi iniisip kung ano ang kahihinatnan. Yes, she can't deny the happines she feels whenever he's around. The sudden blush whenever he's looking at her like she's the only one around. The kiss addiction that only his lips can give. But sometimes, she can't help but think that they were just using each other for their own advances. Ayaw man niyang aminin sa sarili ngunit ito ang totoo.
