"Maria! can you come down here?" Is what I wake up too.
"Umm Xander?" I mumble.
"No sorry doll, I'm guess that is your brother down there." The boy says sleeply next to me.
"Shit! I'll be right down."
"Haha just getting up I take it?!" My brother laughs.
"I have a restaurant to run until 2 I don't usually get to bed until 3:30, 4 give me a break." I say pulling back the comforter and swinging my feet over the side of the bed.
"Fine but please come here."
"I'm coming I'm coming what the hell is so urgent and why are you here?"
"Well get your ass down here and you will see."
"Ok Ok- Mom, Dad?! What are you doing here?"
"We want to surprise you" My mom says
"Well it's done." I say as I'm thinking 'Shit bad timing really bad timing.'
"You ok baby?" my dad asks
"Just not the best timing, that's all" I admit before yelling "Xander, my parents are here!"
"Huh? What?!" I hear him yell as there is a loud thump.
"Not that I don't love that you are here but can you give me like 20 so I can take a shower and change."
"Yeah sure honey." My mom says heading into my kitchen as I head back upstairs.
When I get up stairs I see Xander leaning his head on the bed while sitting on the floor.
"You ok darling?"
"Yeah just shocked that's all"
"You and me both, why don't you go use the other shower so we can look like human beings instead of zombies while my family is here."
"Ok doll sure thing." he smiles getting up kissing me on the the cheek and leaving.
I smile and head into my bathroom striping my cloths as I go, soon I'm feeling the hot water on my skin and steam all around me helping me think about what I'm going to do with my family here. I get out, dry my self off and slip on a plain olive green dress (40's like always) then head down stairs.
"So any particular reason for this random visit?" I ask as I walk down stairs into the kitchen braiding my hair.
"We haven't heard from you in a while, we missed you." my mom answers
"I'm sorry I've been busy."
"Busy is an understatement doll, If you don't slow down you'll run yourself into the ground." Xander says walking in "Nice to see you again Mr and Mrs Mastromarchi"
"Nice to see you too, your sister told us you were found." My mom smiles before dropping the look and facing me. "What does he mean by that Maria?"
"I don't know, I'm fine I've just be busy with the restaurant. Uncle phil went on a long vacation and left the restaurant to me for the time being."
"Xander? is that true?" My dad asks as I start to make breakfast and coffee.
"Yes but she only seems to get maybe 4 hours of sleep before she gets up takes a shower, makes breakfast, heads to the restaurant to set it up for opening making sure everything is perfect, then starts cooking before the cooks even gets there, when they get there she takes to organizing the bar. at 4 she opens up and doesn't take a break until 2 when we close then she is up cleaning and straightening for another hour, when she comes home she has a bite to eat while she does paper work, and then she goes to sleep around 5 getting up between 9 and 10 starting all over."
