Chapter 27

******** Two Years Later *********
Allen's pick of the month sighed with delight as he climbed off of her. Charlotte turned to her lover, "Something bothering you Allen?"

He slightly brushed her finger tip away from his chest as she made circles, "No, why do you ask?"

"Well.. you usually don't have an appetite for more than once a night." 

Allen scoffed at her remark as he turned over, "Go to sleep."

Charlotte turned over and pressed the tears back as she found sleep.

Lilly was leaning over her desk rolling her head as she rubbed her her shoulder. She was exhausted from the work on her new portfolio submission. She smiled as she felt strong arms circle around her waist.

She turned around to face Dr. Christopher Donovan and wrapped her arms around his neck, "I think it's time you had a break." She smiled against his lips as he kissed her.

The kiss was starting to intensify until his phone rang, "Hold that thought."

Lilly eased away as he stepped out on her apartments balcony. She looked back at her work and smiled, "Who would have thought."

Her smile faded as Christopher came back into the apartment with a sad look. She eagerly signed, "What's wrong."

"Peterson's wife just went into labor and I have to cover for him. He already had it approved by H.R." He pressed his head to hers.

"Well.. I won't go without you."

He closed his eyes as he shook his head, " Its your baby sisters second birthday. You already missed the first, don't miss this one."Lilly lowered her head as she nodded. Christopher gave her a deep kiss on the lips. "I'll see you when you get back, ok?"

Lilly hugged him with a concerned look gazing past his shoulder.

As Lilly rode the escalator down to the airport lobby. She pressed the tip of her tongue to the tip of her teeth as she shook her head, "Unbelievable."

A young woman dressed in a sexy chauffeur outfit was holding up a sign with her name. Lilly calmly walked up to her and pointed at herself. "Lilly? Wonderful! Come this way."

Lilly laughed to herself as she followed her, "I'm going to ring his neck."

"Ya know Mr . Allen hired me. Whatta guy! God, he's so hot, and a good fu.. oh look we are here."

Lilly had been sitting in the backseat with her fingers pressed between her eyes. She couldn't exit the car quickly enough. "I'll get the bags Miss Lilly."

Lilly threw up her hand to a knowledge the poor lady.

Vivian gasped at the sight of Lilly finally standing before her. She embraced her in a tearful hug, "Lilly. My Lilly."

As Vivian pushed her back to look at her, she did a double take to the sexy chauffeur, "What the hheelll is that?"

Lilly chuckled and signed, "My ride?"

Vivian turned to the direction of the stairs, "Allen!!!"

Lilly's heart stopped. She could hear his footsteps coming down the stairs, then tapping against the marble floor. Finally he was there, "Yes mother?"

Vivian turned to her handsome son, "Really ? You had one of your whores to pick her up?"

Allen chuckled as he tucked his hands in his pockets as he rocked on the balls of his feet, "Hello Lilly."

Lilly just glared at his striking features. She could tell she was a target of revenge. She pushed past him to follow her mother back into the house.

After being settled in, Lilly was showing her parents her new found fame and income as she showed them her photographs. Lilly had become a professional field photographer. She had done work for almost all of the famous news, fashion and travel magazines.

As she was packing her work up, she heard Allen clapping slowly. She closed her eyes as she turned to face him and signed, "Hello Allen."

Allen gave her a confused look, "I'm sorry? I couldn't hear you."

Lilly held her breath. No one that she loved had spoken to her like that, "Allen."

He cut her off, "Come on now, I think you losing your voice card has gone on quite enough."

Lilly shook her head with tears of disbelief, "Why are you being so cruel?"

"Because Lilly, that's what I am, and your just the invalid that everyone wished would just go away." He smirked until he saw his mother turn the corner.

Allen's eyes showed shock as she repeatedly slapped him anywhere she could, "Get out of my sight!"

"Mother?" Allen felt sick to know his mother heard him. Marcus ran in to pull her off.

Her hair was tossed and in her eyes as she heaved through gritted teeth, "Get out you no good pice of trash! Get out! Out!"

Allen pushed by her and his father as he cut his eyes to Lilly. After he left, Vivian turned to her and hugged Lilly tight, "Don't listen to him. I've missed you everyday you have been away. He has too, that's why he is so angry."

Lilly cried as they tried to comfort one another.
