Life after the deathly hallows

Chapter 9

I open my eyes, I can't sleep. How am I expected to sleep when Albus and James might die while sleeping. I shiver at the thought of it, what time is it? 3:13 am?! I can't sleep this way, I can't think this way, if my parents aren't going to do anything, then I will. I get up, brush my teeth, put nice and warm clothes on, I tip-toe in my parents room to get one of my moms purses because I need some things. I go back to my room and stuff 2 shirts and 2 pants and a couple of other clothing with 30$ in the purse. I think of bringing my parents' phone but then I realize they will keep calling me and what if it has a tracking device, no I tell myself, I can't afford to have my mind changed right now.

I slip on a jacket and head to the door. As I turn the doorknob, my stomach grumbles, I'm hungry, so I go to the kitchen and I have 2 waffles and I pack a couple of chewy bars and waffles just in case and I head outside. I look around left to right, thinking of how I'm going to get there, it's not even in this world! I look down the street checking for a taxi when I see a dark figure walking with a backpack, I feel like I know who it is, but it's back is turned so I can't be sure. I walk closer to try and see who it is and I see a lion on the backpack. it's the same lion that I saw uncle Ron wearing when we went camping, but it looks like a kid, not a man. Kid, uncle Ron, it must be Hugo!

"Hugo! Hugo it's me! it's Lily!" I shout. I see the figure turn around and I see he's surprised. It's too dark to be certain.

"Lily?! What are you doing here?" It shouts back and I'm sure it's Hugo, I run toward it as fast as I can and then I realize I'm right, it's Hugo.

"If my parents won't do anything for James and Albus then I will. I'm going to go help them or at least find out more about this... Situation," It takes me a while to find a suitable word to describe sll this. "What are you doing here?"

"I'm going to go save Lily."

"Do you want to go together?" We say at the same time and laugh.

"Yeah ok it's dark and scary, I'm glad you're coming too." I say

"But, where do we go? I started heading this way as a guess but, I honestly don't know." He says running a hand through his hair.

"Let's go this way." I say pointing to the right "Because I'm pretty sure mom and dad went this way when we were going to the station 9 and 3/4 to drop Albus and James off."

"Alright, let's go."

After about 2 hours of walking (at 5:21 am) we found a bench at a park near the train station and sat down to catch our breath. While sitting down, I put my head on Hugo's shoulder and he puts his head on mine, he's a really close friend of mine and I'm glad to have him, I hope we don't get into a relationship, I like our friendship.

"Did you have breakfast?" asks Hugo.

"Yeah, I had 2 waffles, what about you?" I say.

"Yeah same."

"Why does our family always have to be in danger?" I say.

"Lily, I know how you feel, it's happening to my family too, I mean my mom and my dad, and your dad were 3 best friends forever and your dad fell in love with my dad's sister and my dad and mom fell out of the best friend section, so we're all linked."

"And how'd you know that?"

"My mom and dad tell me little things my mom and dad did with your dad once in a while, don't yours?"

"Kind of, my mom probably told Albus and James somethings and when I came along she didn't want to repeat it 3 times. You know, I'm like the least important one." I say feeling upset.

"Lily, don't say that, they like you too! they just have 3 times the work of one baby! They don't always have the time, plus, don't tell your brothers, but I like you better than them because of your personality, even if you're a girl!"

"Aw, Hugo thanks. If you don't tell your sister than I won't tell my brothers but I like you better than your sister too! Everything about your personality"

"Deal!" We say at the same time and laugh.

I look at my watch, it's 5:30.

"Hugo, let's leave in 10 minutes. Ok?" I ask.

"Ok sure." He says.

"Are you hungry? because I packed like 10 chewy bars." I say and he laughs.

"What?! I was in a rush so I just grabbed a handful." I say.

"Ok, ok. Sure I'll have one." he says.

I hand him one and I have one myself. We lay down on the grass and look up at the stars head to head. I'm so glad he's with me, if he wasn't here, I don't know what I would do.
