Maxim listened with half an ear to what was taking place at the board meeting. Many of the members voiced their opinion on where the new overseas sales and warehouse would be.
"I think we should use our leverage over Chikako Robotics. Corner them to forfeit their micro-chip warehouse to house our new sale division."

"I agree with Roberts, they owe us a considerable amount of cash. What do you think Maxim?"

All eyes in the room turned to Maxim and awaited his reply. It was then that they noticed Maxim staring beyond their heads, through the glass window of the conference room at an approaching figure.

"I'm sorry Mr. Russell is in a meeting. If you can wait... I will."

"Can it, I really don't care if he is in a meeting." Amy spun around so fast that the tiny secretary bumped into her and then stumbled backwards. Giving her a menacing glare, the woman swallowed hard and cut her eyes towards the conference room. Amy turned back around and stalked forward.

Just before Amy could reach the meeting door. Two security guards barred her way.

"If you two know what's good for you. You better move out of my way right now!"

Maxim cleared his throat to draw everyone attention.

"Gentleman lets postpone this meeting until 9 am tomorrow. Regretfully there is something I must take care of. Again, my apologies for any inconvenience to your schedules.

Maxim rose after speaking and strode with purpose out the door. Tapping the two guards on the shoulder they stepped aside.

"Control yourself Amy. We will talk in my office."

Maxim's grip on Amy's upper arm was like a vice as he led her in the direction of his office. Once they were inside. Maxim deposited Amy in the chair in front of his desk before taking his seat.

"Amy"

"Maxim, was it necessary to hold me so tight. What will your employees think?"

"My employees are not paid to think when it comes to my family matters. What happened in Dallas?"

"Dallas?"

"Cut the games Amy, Dallas."

"Oh alright. It's not what you think."

"Really enlighten me."

Amy looked at the chip on her finger nail and shrugged.

"It's clan business. I just shut the mouth of a western panther member is all. She was being disrespectful. Calling us all kittens. So, I asked her nicely to take it back. She wouldn't so I showed her what an alpha female of this so-called kitten clan can do."

"This behavior has got to stop Amy."

"It's not a behavior Maxim. It's what I am. An alpha female. She should have known her place."

"You will issue an apology."

"No I won't."

"Yes, you will."

Maxim watched as Amy rose and leaned across his desk.

"what will you give me if I do?"

"Your dignity, I am not William and this behavior won't be tolerated. I have nothing to give you."

"Oh, yes you do."

"Let's hear it, what do you want now?"

Amy smiled her blue eyes roamed over Maxim's face.
