Maximum stared out of the Jets window at the dense grey cloud blanketing the sky. It lay, an unwelcome sheet as they appeared the size of a gnat in the world's eye. within the Jets cabin each one of them were locked into their own thoughts. A trip that would have taken 2 hours was going on three. They had run into rainy weather maximum heard a sigh from across the cabin. turning from the window he watched Kara. Something was on her mind as she needled her bottom lip with her teeth. He fought against the urge to cross the cabin and take her in his arms. Memories swamped his mind of their time at the cabin. He absent-mindedly smiled at her not noticing Shelby looking at him.

"Oh come on Kara tell your husband to quit with the googly eyes."

"Huh what did you say?"

"Tell Maxim to cut it out."

Kara turned her autumn eyes to Maxim's grey ones and sucked in her breath. The look he was giving her was so sensual, she found she couldn't tear her eyes away from him."

"Like I said cut it out I'm worried enough as it is especially after Emerald gave us her warning.' Shelby words snapped Maxim from his thoughts.

" What warning?"

"Oh, so now he's back to reality, tell him what the kid said."

Maxim crossed his arms and waited. Kara scrunched up eyebrows with annoyance at Shelby."

"don't give me that look. I'm scared "

Maxim growled "What warning?"

Cara swallow once before she spoke.

I wanted more than anything right now to smack Shelby up aside the head. She now had Maxim's intention focused on me, that was the one place I didn't want it to be right now. My thoughts have been preoccupied with the fact that we were in a jet and I didn't like that I did not know why. I knew I had to speak to Maxim about this. The bond between us was sealed. I know that now as I am more tuned into Maxim's emotions. He was a little angry as well as waiting for an answer to his question.

"One of the students told me to beware of the were's"

"One of your students?"

"Yes"

"That's strange."

"Not really Shelby chimed in. "the kid is a seer."

That last statement made Maxim sit up alert.

"Tell me what she said exactly"

"Yeah, tell Maxim what she said."

Maxim raise an eyebrow as he looked in my direction."

"She said to Beware of the were-leopards."

"Why?"

"I really don't know."

"You may not know but I do. The Leopards are short on temperament."

Maxim turned to stare back out of the window after watching me for several seconds. I purposely left out that Emerald had said that they knew what I was? How did they know I was an alpha female and my husband knows not. I felt the plane descend as we came through the clouds. It was still light out and I looked at the scenery  unfolding before me. The beautiful hues of red yellow and green blanketed the horizon. I knew that I was going into a volatile situation. Shelby said they were temperamental and I believed her. I was curious about Maxim's reaction we would talk later. we landed at the airstrip surrounded by trees. Shelby hesitated unbuckling her seat belt, before she exited the plane behind us.

 Marco POV

Marco sat in the darkened office meditating, he had to figure out a way to deal with the Viper. It got under his skin that she had killed his brother so easily. The door opened and a young female approached.

"Can I have a word with you father?"

"Come in, what would you like to discuss?"

He stared into the somber eyes of his pregnant daughter.

"Migration father, I want to discuss leaving this place. We need to move as grandfather had done."

"We are staying here."

"We can't we are facing extinction; our bodies are not adapting and I can't..."

Marco knew what she was going to say and rose to place his arms around her. The royal blue Sheath dress that cover her small frame hid her pregnancy well. He knew exactly what she had planned on saying. "Hush don't worry Layla"

"Father, please listen to reason. We can't stay here leave the land to Jared's people. Leave the women."

"You, know about that?"

"Yes, my ears are more  in tuned than you think. I heard the talks between you and Uncle Tony before the fight viper got him. Please think this over."

Marco knew Layla was right, migration from this type of weather was be the best thing for his people. First, he had to tackle the shortage of women.

Toronto Compound

Jared's intense pacing was not helping the impatient mood he was in. Another six women were taken from their homes last night. The men of his clan slaughtered as they slept. Even the girl children were taken. He roared as he threw the glass he was drinking from across the room. The impact of its connection with the wall shattered it into a million tiny crystals. Which spewed out in all directions making and intricate design across the floor. It would take another 30 minutes for the others to arrive.

Jared felt his temper rise as he pulled at the red turtleneck he wore dressing, his massive figure. His bulging muscle stretched the fabric taught across his chest, as he shoved his hands in his pockets and continue to pace. Who was behind these attacks? Who had that much balls to strike at the panther Clan? Jared reached into his pocket to answer the buzzing of his cell phone.

"Yes, I know they have landed. I sent an emissary to meet them. Bring them straight to the compound."

Jared listen intently before he felt a familiar tingling sensation run down his spine. There was an alpha female close by. The door opened and Jared's two wives walked in. Elva the older and his first wife spared him a little attention, as she looked about the room.

"Was that necessary?"

"It relieves tension."

"No, it makes more work for Verona."

"No, it doesn't."

"Stop breaking things Jared. We have people coming, What will they think of you?"

"I don't care what they think I didn't solicit them to help me think. I solicit them for action."

"Leave him be Elva, once Jared is all riled up he won't bother with either one of us."

Elva looked beyond Stacy and ignored her. It was just Jared stupid decree that he take on another wife. Elva didn't care for Stacey.

"I don't remember addressing you stay Stacy. I was talking to Jared"

"Yes, I know and I was talking to you."

Jared's decree that she could not take the other's woman's life had Elva seeing red. She would wait for the right moment and Wham! Elva would have her. Jared saw the changing of Elva's features as she started towards Stacy.

"Ladies... ladies, I don't need this bickering right now. Elva, you are right have Verona clean this up."

"You just make sure that, that's the only thing in here she is cleaning up."

Jared robust laugh sounded dull and hollow to the ears of the women. They each walk to the opposite side of him and placed a kiss on his cheek. hoping that their motions soothed his rising temper...
