Maxim flipped closed the last file report of the statistics of Tech Industries. Production was up and sales were slowly climbing. He loosened his tie as he leaned back in his chair and closed his eyes. He sent word ahead the meeting would take place at the cabin. It was a meeting spot that was accessible and convenient for everyone and their purpose. He was going to force Amy to apologize. He hoped that someone from the other clan found her attractive enough to take her off his hands. Reaching in his pocket he pulled out his cell phone and dialed Klaus.

"Maxim, what's up?"

"Send the car for Amy around seven and have them drive her to the cabin. Alert Albert and Thelma that we will be there for the weekend."

"You sure you want to send a car for her. She may not accept the ride."

"Oh, she will, I and Kara will be in the car to fetch her. Have them pick up Kara first and then swing back here to get me. We will bring Amy and her apology."

"do you think Xavier will accept it?"

"Would you? The fight was with his sister. Besides relations maybe strained after this. On top of this I'm getting that feeling about Kara."

"Kara?"

"Yeah we never finished our talk. I picked her up a couple of days ago, from work. She was silent on the way home. Too silent for my liking."

"The silence before the storm."

"Yeah something like that."

Okay Maxim, I will do as you ask. See you at the cabin."

The call ended and Maxim slid the phone onto his desk. He rubbed a weary hand across his face. The day had passed slowly and he was tired. He arranged this meeting with Xavier and no matter how he felt. He wouldn't go back on it. Opening the small drawer on the right side of his desk. He pulled out Kara's picture. She didn't know that he had taken it. She had a wistful look on her face as she looked off into the distance of the setting sun.

Kara's POV

Timothy was at it again. I caught his little hand and placed mine over his just as he was about to climb up the monkey bars.

"Where do you think, you are going young man."

"Want to climb on the bars."

"I can see that Timothy. Do you remember our talk from the other day?"

"Yes, I am not to climb to the top."

"Right, now be careful."

I watched Timothy as he climbed up one bar. He turned to me and smiled.

"Good job Timothy."

"My daddy is coming to get me today!"

I smiled at Timothy and held out my arms. He quickly leaned into me instead of jumping.

"My daddy is here!"

I turned to see a rugged looking man watching us. He nodded to Timothy and he took off running. Timothy got halfway to his father, turned and ran the short distance back to me. Timothy hug made me smile as he sprinted back to his father.

I recognized the driver from the other day. I said my farewells to the children. I nodded as I walked through the door that he held for me. Maxim informed me that he would send a car to pick me up. It was Friday, it was going to be a long weekend.

"Mr. Russell asked that we pick him up from the office."

I just nodded and looked out the cars window at the passing streets, people and buildings. My mouth seemed to get dry as we approached Maxim's office building. I let my gaze travel the length of the building as it appeared to reach into the cloudy sky. Wow the sky seemed to matched my thoughts. I was restless, rolling down the window I breathed in the cool air.
