Chapter 24: Piano Players are Sexy

Serena Davidson:

-          Gawd, she’s a murderer too. She almost killed Olivia the other day.

-          No kidding. Did you see her butt practically eating Olivia’s face off? Gross.

-          I think she’s sweet and kind.

My face scrunched up in confusion as my eyes passed over the last comment . . . who the heck wrote that? I had a strange feeling that it was Holly.

-          Whoever wrote the last comment is deranged and or high. Serena Davidson is as sweet as my fecal matter and as kind as my piss.

-          . . . That’s gross.

-          Not as gross as Ser Fattie’s face!

-          LOL. True. Very true.

Despite the one oddly nice comment, my wall had filled back up, not to its original two-wall glory, but it had gotten fairly large. Plus, some new amusing pictures had flooded it. One was of my butt eating Olivia’s face and the other was just an exaggerated image of the earth getting lost in the folds of my fat. Again, at least I have talented haters.

The bathroom door squeaked open and I, too engrossed in the wall, flinched for a second but slightly relaxed when I saw it was Holly.

“Rena?”

I sighed realizing that I would have to apologize to her sooner or later. I turned around and faced her.

“Hey,” I greeted giving her a slight wave.

“I see your  . . . er wall is back up,” she said awkwardly, afraid that I might snap at her again.

“Look, Holly. I’m really sorry about yelling at you yesterday. I was just upset and I know that’s not a proper excuse for snapping at you for trying to do something nice for me. It’s just that I have a lot of history with this wall . . . and yeah,” I ended my apology awkwardly, refusing to meet her eyes.

“It’s okay, Rena. I should be apologizing for getting rid of something that you obviously care about. I just thought that you’d be happier without all the untrue, mean comments that have gone on here.”

“So, we’re good?” I asked hopefully, not wanting to lose a friend as understanding as Holly.

She gave me a smile. “Yeah, we’re good. Now, how about we talk about getting you and Liam together?” Holly teased.

“Hmmm, let me think about that.” I raised my index finger and thumb to my chin as if I was actually thinking. “No,” I said sternly.

“Awww, come on,” Holly whined. “I bet you still have that picture as your background.”

I stayed silent, knowing that it was true.

“Wait . . . really?” Holly looked surprised that she was right, but her surprise faded into a smug look. “You like him,” she stated, giving me a weird smile.
