I woke up with a start, the dream leaving me feeling exhausted, both physically and emotionally. My face was wet with tears; I was surprised I still had any years left to cry over these last years.

The dream always felt so real. Reunited with Loki after all this time; his slender, long fingers reaching out, only inches away from mine. only to be snatched away from me once more, slowly fading away before me eyes, leaving me feeling powerless and doubting myself over whether he had ever been there to start with.

All I had left now, were the memories of happier times; days where the cares and worries of life didn't lay heavy on our shoulders, where fate was kind and we were to be together forever, for all of eternity.

I turned to look at the clock, hoping it was almost morning, then I could get up and leave behind the pain I had come to associate with nightfall. My heart felt like a heavy stone as I saw it was still only the early hours of the morning.

It wouldn't do me any good to keep lying there, so getting up, I grabbed my dressing gown and made my way out onto the balcony. The cold evening air sent a shiver down my spine, but it felt invigorating, making me feel almost..... awake in some sense.

I gazed up at thethat stars and wondered if somewhere, far away in Asgard, my Prince was gazing up at the same stars. It comforted me to think that even though we were apart,  such a tiny thing could link and connect us through time and distance.

As always, I located Thiassi's eyes, a favourite constellation of Loki's and mine, but there was something out of place with the twins' eyes tonight. They looked as if they were alive, twinkling with mischief, like they had a mind of their own.

'Loki would approve.', I thought to myself with a smile, wrapping my robe around me a little tighter for comfort.

Suddenly, the stars seemed to change color before eyes, until they resembled oddly familiar emerald green color. I had never seen such a thing happen before, but for some unexplainable reason, my heart told me Loki was behind this. Was it possible he was watching me from his realm, and this was some sort of sign?

'Wow, you really must sleep deprived if that's the kind of explanation you can come up with, Eloise', I mentally chided myself.

Although logic dictated such a thing was impossible, Loki had long ago shown me things that no human would be able to explain. There were other worlds, realms, that us "mortals" could not comprehend.

I closed my eyes and tried to envision everything Loki had told me of Asgard, of its palace, of the Rainbow Bridge and the Bifrost where Heimdall could gaze out over all the Nine Realms. It was hard due to my limited imagination but I tried my hardest.

Slowly, through the blur of personal ignorance, my vision cleared, and I could see Loki standing inside a gigantic golden dome. Standing next to him was a large man, with skin the color of chocolate, dressed in what I imagined to be Asgardian armor, none other than Heimdall I presumed.

My heart ached at the sight of him; my misunderstood Prince who had never felt worthy anyone until I had my love affection him. He was asking Heimdall to watch over me, to check I was ok. I felt like I would burst into a million pieces from the joy washing over me. He hadn't forgotten me; our love still strong enough to fight the forces that separated us.

I opened my eyes again and turned to look the sky above. It WAS Loki! Loki, looking down on me, telling me everything would be alright, that he still believed us and that would keep fighting with everything he had.

"I love you, Loki. I always have and I will continue to love you with every breath I breathe. Don't forget that.", I whispered.

I didn't know whether he could hear me, but I needed say it. With a lighter heart, I turned to my bed once more, feeling at peace, and slowly sleep crept upon me.

Just before my eyes closed, I swear I felt a whisper of Loki's lips mine, and his voice in my head.

"Be strong, my love. I'm coming for you."
