When you got to the airport, it was 4.30, leaving you an hour before the plane was due to leave. You went through security, found the gate you were supposed to be at, and went in some shops nearby, buying a book to read, a bottle of water and a few things to eat on the plane. (You had always assumed that food and drinks weren't allowed on planes, but you found out you can actually buy them after you go through security.)

At 5.00, you boarded the airplane, and by 7.30, you had arrived in Central City.

Getting the print out of the email you had been sent, you checked the next instruction.

2. You need to be at 112 Infantino Street at 9.00 tonight. Don't be late.

You typed the address into your phone, and saw that it was 20 minutes away, so you started walking in the direction the map pointed you to.

When you arrived outside the address you had been given, you saw that it was only 8.00, so you checked the map on your phone for any nearby café's you could stop into. After a few minutes, you walked into one called Jitters, which, despite the time, was not only open, but busy. You supposed it was because of the particle accelerator opening that your future self had told you about. Walking over to the till, you bought a coffee that was called 'The Flash', and looked around for a spare seat. Noticing that there was only one, you speed walked over to it before someone else stole the chair.

"Do you mind if I sit here?" You asked the people you sat next to.

"Not at all, please, sit." The woman responded pointing to the chair.

"You guys can just ignore me; I wouldn't want to intrude on your date." You said, searching through your bag for your phone.

Laughing, the woman smiled widely at you.

"We aren't on a date. This guy is like a brother to me, we're just friends."

"Yeah... We're just friends." The man repeated sadly, looking down at his hands.

Sticking her hand out to you, the woman spoke again.

"My name's Iris West, and this is Barry."

Shaking her hand, you smiled at her friendliness.

"I'm Y/N. It's nice to meet you, Iris, Barry." You said, nodding to them both.

Barry looked up at you and gave you a nervous smile, before turning his attention to the TV where the newscaster was broadcasting live from the site of the particle accelerator opening.

"We're going to go watch the opening soon. It's supposed to be at 9.00, so we're going to leave here in about half an hour. Are you going to watch it?"

"Oh, no. I'm just in town for today; I actually live in Starling City. I guess I just wanted a change of scenery, I didn't even realise the accelerator opening was happening tonight."

Suddenly, Barry's attention turned back to you, and he eyed you suspiciously.

"Starling? That's around 600 miles away. It's a bit far to travel just for a day."

"Well, what can I say? I was bored at home." You responded, shifting slightly in your seat, suddenly feeling like you were being interrogated.

Seeing how uncomfortable you now were, Iris lightly slapped Barry on the shoulder.

"Sorry about him." She said apolitically, raising her eyebrows slightly. "He works in the police station, he's used to being all police-y."

You nodded at her and smiled slightly, no longer feeling welcome. You were about to take your coffee and leave, when Barry's phone started ringing. He answered it and spoke to someone for a few minutes, before hanging up and looking over at Iris.
