As I reach down
Into the pit of my chest
To start collecting the pieces
Of my broken again heart,
I hesitateI wonder,
Is it worth it
To put it back together
If it is only to be broken again?I wrapped up my heart
In silk
I tied it shut
With red ribbon
And I gave it to you
Because
I trust youYou laughed
And said
"I love you"
But you handed me
A box
Empty
You said
You would give me
Your heartBut it belongs
To someone elseAnd still
You keep mine
And
I couldn't take it back
Even if I wantedBecause I love you
Even if
You will never love me
Not like I love you
Never
Like I love you
