Mal
I wake up and see Evie lying next to me.. we're not in Auradon Prep anymore, we're home. Our home. I hear crying coming from another room. I get up carefully and walk out into the hallway. I see a room decorated for a young girl I enter and see a young girl she is crying, then I realise that I was just asleep. I pick the girls up recognising immediately it's Dizzy. Sh wakes up but is still crying.
"Hey it's okay, it was just a nightmare." I say and she wraps her arms around my neck.
"Come on I'll take you to my room." I say and she smiles at me. I carry her back to me and Evie's bed and put her down.
"Don't wake your mother." I say seeing its only 7:00. She nods and lays down falling asleep almost immediately.
I walk into the bathroom that branches off from our room. I turn the sink on and stand there for a minute trying to comprehend what just happened. Evie walks in startling me, she obviously just woke up.
"M-Mal..." she says shocked. I look at her confused as she wraps her arms around me crying.
"You were unconscious for so long." She says through her sobs. Unconscious?
"What do you mean.." I said and she shook her head.
"From the accident." She said and suddenly I remember it. About three years ago. We were driving and got into an accident. But thats all I could remember.
"They moved you home because you hadn't woken up.. they wanted to call it and say you weren't coming back. I refused to believe it." She said almost crying again. We somehow ended up on the floor. I pulled her closer to me and kissed her.
"I'm sorry." I said and she smiled a little.
"I missed you." She said then looked out to where Dizzy was sleeping.
"Dizzy missed you.. she would come in our room just to talk to you.." Evie said.
"I wish it would have been me.." she finished and I shook my head.
"You know I wouldn't have lasted more then a day without you. And I'm sorry I was gone for so long. I.. I didn't mean to." I said and Evie began crying again.
"Mal it wasn't your fault but you had to pay for it. I was the one driving!" She said and I pulled her into another hug, trying to keep her from waking Dizzy.
"I don't blame you. And I hope to god you didn't blame yourself. Because I don't think Dizzy could have made it without anyone." I said and Evie looked at the floor guiltily. I knew she probably had blamed herself for a while but I didn't want to get into it. Dizzy began crying again and Evie rushed over to her.
"She keeps having nightmares about the crash. It could stay with her her entire life. I hope it doesn't." Evie said waking her up. I sat on the bed and wondered what my dream was about. Because that was over six years ago. Evie caught my eye and I smiled at her. I was glad to be home.
