Chapter 8.
New Years.
Last year, I managed to stub my toe so hard it broke and I spent New years limping around in my room.
This year, my friends and I are gonna keep it simple, go watch a movie, hang out and stuff.
But, my friends doesn't include Akki, because he is off to Goa to have fun with his friends.

"Five minutes to midnight" my mom said clapping excitedly.
Yep! I am gonna be with my family and celebrate the clock hitting midnight, because why not? Family is quite important to me, also my friends have other plans for the night. Akki is off in goa getting drunk and enjoying with girls- I hope not.
It's Goa, ofcourse he is gonna do that.
But-but..Sigh! I know what's going down right now in Goa. He is at a rave party, with a barely dressed girl clinging to him and he is definitely 100% super drunk.
Double sigh!
"Happy New year!" my aunts, uncles, my cousins and my parents cheered.
Happy new Year! I said and closed my eyes and his stupid face popped in. Gosh! I need to drink something and so I went and grabbed a bottle of orange juice.
***
It's the evening of January 2nd already and that damn idiot hasn't gotten over his hangover to fucking call me.
Ugh! Fine. I yelled at my phone.
*Ring Ring*
I see the phone and it's none other than the idiot himself.
"What?" I say rudely.
"Hey Shalini. Wassup? Happy New Year" he asks casually.
"Thank you and wish you the same."
"Okay. I am sorry. My friends got me drunk yesterday and I didn't have my phone with me. I kept it in the room so that I don't lose it. Please don't be mad at me."
"Fine. Where are you now?"
"We are on our way back. I will be home by tomorrow. And guess what I am bringing you some sea shells."
"Thank you very much idiot." I said smiling and just like that it was fine with me that he didn't call me on new years.
