Kia screamed, lunging for Thea. Alistair, being the fake boyfriend, didn't hold her back. He had other problems. Ash stared at Kia and Alistair. "Whoa, what? This is even crazier than Leo high on Skittles and helium." For the second time in one day, Ash fainted, and no one was there to catch him, Alistair simply not bothered. Some chivalrous Gryffindor.

Thea flicked hand upwards and caught the young daughter of Pluto with one arm, before freezing her in time, and then bouncing her back to her original position, fuming at her. If this worked out properly, Kia would launch herself at nothing when she unfroze, since her body was rewound backwards in time.

"Is it just me or is that just a little too cruel?" Lincoln asked, scratching his head. They knew it was not fun to be frozen in time, so he stopped the stare down with Dom.

"I heal her injuries, including a broken wrist, and she calls me a show off. Then the wizard puts a wand to my throat when I gave him all the answers he needed. Why does the world treat me like this?" Thea groaned. "This is called reflex." She flicked her hand again, and Ash regained consciousness. "Thief Ashton, you have failed our camp. Stop fainting. You're like a little princess."

Ash groaned. "What the..." He looked at Kia, then at Alistair, who was inching closer to the space where Thea was. He's probably catch Kia when she jumps, he realized with a hint of jealousy. Just because he was dyslexic didn't mean he was stupid. "And little princess? What the heck?"

"You are a little princess, Ashton. Who else faints like that? And please, try to conceal your jealousy. This love triangle is going to bash my brains out of my head."

Ashton glared at Thea. "Love triangle? What in Hades? That kind of thing only happens in that sucker book Twilight." He looked at Deina, whistling appreciatively. "Who's the chick over there?"

"Trust me, as someone who has lived Percy's life, our world is a love octagon." Thea smirked. "And I'm inside your minds. I'm inside all of your minds."

True to Ash's prediction, Kia unfroze, launching herself at Alistair instead. However, he was ready for it, catching her bridal style. Ash could barely keep himself from laughing, sneezing and choking instead. Kia's eyes narrowed, sliding off Alistair's hands and glaring at the goddess. "ARTHELLA DIANNE CARTER, YOU ARE SO SO SO SO SO SO SO DEAD!!!!!!!"

Thea walked swiftly to the side, blocking the lunges Kia threw at her. Shadows appeared at Kia's hands, and Thea waved her hand, her silver energy dancing across the room, snuffing the shadows and brightening the place.

Dom sighed. "You disabled the shadows. Now I'm stuck here."

Thea stuck out her tongue. "I can't deal with an opponent whose instinct is to flash away. Or in your case, sneak away."

Deina stuck her foot out, before saying, "What did I miss?"

"Nothing much, witch. You don't seem so bright for a Ravenclaw." Thea looked over her. "Not exactly the best looking cookie in the jar either."

Ash snorted. "Pity I don't have a camera. This scene would be priceless for the Hermes cabin, or the Aphrodite one."

Dom smiled. "All in good time my friend." He attempted to show him the shadow-snap, but with Thea's interference, he was unable to. "There was a picture with Alice's arm around Kia, and I already sent it to Leah, but she was busy. I don't know if she got it, but it was sent in the direction of Aphrodite's spawn, so I guess they'll have it if it's not with Leah. I swear, you two will be the hottest item since Solangelo."

Alistair had enough of Thea and Dom's nonsense. So what if he liked Kia? He pulled out his wand, and apparated away with Kia with a sharp crack.

Well, he tried. Thea clicked her fingers, and they returned to their original position, slamming into the wall beside her. "I told you, no escaping."

Alistair scowled, summoning a patronus in the form of a lion. He directed it to find Chiron, whispering the words Firenze told him. He turned back to Thea, hands in the air. Smirking, he replied. "I'm not going anywhere."

Thea face-palmed. "You're taking this the wrong way, Mr Selwyn. I just don't want you leaving this room until this is all worked out properly. I'm not stopping you from going to Chiron. Nice patronus, by the way. Do you want to see mine?" She unleashed her own patronus, a large silver wolf, glowing with energy. It dwarfed the size of Alistair's before it vanished. "Unfortunately, I'm not that great at energy control. I tend to use way too much and the patronus just dissipates."

Alistair grinned. "Mine lasts for longer. Plus, I managed to cast mine in first year. The DADA professor accidentally unleashed a boggart on the class, I got a dementor to the face." Kia rolled her eyes. Show off.

"Hmm, first year. What did I do in first? Oh yea, I swam 100m in 21 seconds. No biggie." Thea rolled her eyes. "Dom killed his first pet with a touch, Leah charmed a teacher with her voice, and Ashton probably robbed a bank. We're demigods. We're all extraordinary, with powers or without. It's time to learn talent isn't very special, it's what you earn from training that counts."

"Hey, you left out me!" Lincoln complained.

"I didn't know you till you were 14, and I don't want to delve into your mind for answers." Thea answered coolly.

"At least I can tell you that I accidentally blew up my school in sixth grade. I lost control and then woosh. Ka boom. Thankfully no one was hurt." Lincoln said. "I got transferred to a juvie school for a while after that."

Ash whistled. "Whoa, you blew up your school? Cool!"

Dom looked appalled. "Woah. That's not cool man. I mean like, if there were deaths it would be worst, but still. Not cool."

Kia sighed softly. "I almost killed a person when I was 10." It was an accident, but it still snagged on her conscience. "I saw a bully targeting one of my only friends at a mortal school, and I accidentally unleashed the full force of the shadows on him." She couldn't forget the teacher's words. You could've killed him, she said, you're such a freak.

Thea looked at her sympathetically. "I sent a mortal into a coma after he taunted me, and since this was just soon after I woke up from my own coma, my pent up energy just erupted and knocked him brain dead. And you don't even want to know how many people I've killed. Get it off your conscience, Ki, past is in the past." She held a hand to Kia's forehead, and her palm glowed, pulsing through her mind. Kia resisted, but Thea held tight to the younger girl. "Find peace, Kitana Silverdrake. Find peace."

Dom scratched his head. "What'cha doing?"

Thea sighed, eyes glowing. "Finding a peaceful moment in her life." She scanned through the memories, until she found it. At the orphanage, with Kia's old friends: Terris, Celesté, Alistair. She felt herself pried from Kia's mind, and Kia glared at her.

"Quit it, Carter." Kia whirled around, walking out of the Big House and slamming the door shut. Alistair shot an equally foul glare at Thea, running after Kia, but he was too late. She disappeared into the shadows, leaving Alistair standing outside alone.

"At least she found peace with herself." Thea said softly. "That much I could do. But her mental stubbornness? Only she can break through."
