"Wren is... still the same. We have tried for three hours, and Tristan is starting to get scared. He is scared Wren will stay a zombie to mind control." Kylie said, twirling a baton behind her back, frustrated. "We were hoping you could help. With your powers."
"I'm sorry Kylie, but there's honestly nothing I can do. An angel like me, well, we can't undo a natural ability of a demon, especially one tainted with the touch of the Lady of the Night. And I'm not really a healer. I wasn't born a healer, I was born a warrior. Healing was just something I learnt after Tori, you know. Anyways, we'll just have to keep Wren locked up for now. She's compromised."
Kia clenched her fists. "I wish I could do something about this. Sure, I don't deal with mind control and stuff, but I hate feeling so guilty."
Alistair frowned. "Why are you feeling guilty? I'm afraid I don't quite understand."
Kia scoffed, staring at him. "Don't you see? This is technically my fault. If I hadn't left Kylie, Thea, Wren and I wouldn't have had to go back, and if we didn't go back Tom wouldn't've had a chance to hypnotize Wren!"
"Don't kick yourself like a sad little puppy, Kit." Thea said, pacing around slightly. "You're a demigod. I'm an angel, the freaking-" She paused. "Lord of time. Got it. Okay I'm not sure if this will work because this is normally what I do with physical wounds so let's bring her up."
Kylie led the trio (and the fourth little kid in the background. She wasn't stupid, she knew that Thea knew she was there but was blatantly ignoring the child) up to the lifts, and brought them into the library. There, Wren was chained up, and Tristan was throwing books and scrolls around. Kylie looked around, and groaned. "Hey. Hey! Tristan! You do not, do not mess around with my books and scrolls. These are ancient texts from my Japanese ancestors that were saved from the atomic bomb in Nagasaki so do not screw with them." Kylie hissed, before turning to Thea with a more pleasant look. "Sorry you had to hear that. You'll learn after I've known someone for quite a while I start to skip the formalities when they fool around with my scrolls. I am a scholar, nearly wanted to become a centurion but still a respected scholar in Japan and I have not found anything on reversing mind-control."
"It's not mind-control it's just a psychic warp of her reality where she sees friends as foes and foes as friends that comes from inducing a sharp wave of confusion it's complicated but I think I know how to reverse it. How long has it been? Four hours? When did we meet you?" Thea rambled on. "I need to be exact or Wren here might lose some of her memories and I don't want that to happen since I haven't done this to a mind in so long."
"It has been 4 hours and 37 minutes since you entered this building with Kitana." Kylie said.
"Uh, that accurate." Thea nodded. "Okay, impressive. Stand back, I don't want any of you to be affected if there is any backlash." I could use the assist, fellow Legilimen. She hissed at Berniss, who seemed not the least stunned. She felt her nod quietly, and then walking up to the unconscious girl, put her fingers on her temple, and then closed her eyes. She pictured a golden dial, the normal process of time, and began to wind it back. Her silver energy coiled from her fingers and delved into Wren's mind, digging deeper, taking over the natural golden color of the dial as she took control, making the clock tick backwards. 1 hour. 2. 3. 4. 36 minutes. She could feel the resistance in her mind, the mental block trying to push her way out of it. A little help would be nice, Niss. Help me figure out if her memories are intact afterwards, I'll be way too out of it afterwards. See if she remembers up to us going into a dark warehouse. That's all she needs to remember.
Kylie watched the young girl, whose eyes were glowing a bright green. Not just the iris, but the entire eye. She then looked at Thea, who was beginning to glow an unnatural color. Her hands were starting to shake from exertion, and her legs began to tremble.
"Agh!" Thea finally broke through, and memories that were neither Wren nor her own flooded her mind. A party club. Flashing neon lights. A dark blue curtain draped over a window. Three figures meeting under the moon. She cried out, before collapsing on the floor. "Kia could I have a hand?"
Kia ran over, yanking Thea to her feet. "Hey. You okay? And please try not to call me a sad little puppy. According to you, I'm already a poodle."
Niss dove into Wren's mind, concentrating hard. She pushed past an empty block, finding herself going into a warehouse. It was probably in Wren's perspective, as there was a stele attached to the belt and a bow hanging off her shoulder. She pushed herself out gently. Yo Thea I think she's good.
Tristan ran over to Wren, who was looking dizzy. "Wren! By the Angel, I was so damn worried about you!" He wrapped her in his arms, kissing her forehead.
"What happened? I feel so..." Wren went unconscious again, probably as a result of Tom, then Thea and the new girl messing with her mind. Tristan waved a hand, disintegrating the chains. He carried Wren out bridal style, laying her down on one of the chairs.
"You two are cute. Cuter than Alistair and Kia because you actually admit that you like each other."She gave them a pointed look, and they both looked away. Using Kia's hand as a leverage, she stole a bit of her energy to revive herself. Kia stumbled, and then glared at her. "Sorry! I told you, time sorcery, it's complicated. And tiring. I got a few images of where Tom and Alice might be, or a hideout they might have."
"How?" Kylie asked, before nodding her head. "Oh. You received backlash from the time manipulation in Wren's mind."
Tristan raised an eyebrow pointedly. "Uh, Thea? Wren and I are dating."
"I know, but they won't. I shoved you two into a closet and you won't even kiss? What in Hades is wrong with you two?" Thea sighed, before she began to curl her hair into a bun. "There's a hideout in a club. I think it was Pandemonium. I'm not sure, since I've only been to Pandemonium in a stake out."
"I guess we should go, then? We can leave Wren here to recover, with Tristan taking care of her. Then you, Kitana, Alistair and I could check the place out." Kylie suggested.
Thea shook her head. "It'll look a little suspicious if three girls hang out around one guy. We need more people. Perhaps, we'll need a little help with this one. Someone who knew Tom longer than me. And he's a guy, so it'll help even it out."
"Who is this friend of yours, Arthella?" Kylie enquired.
"Please, please call me Thea. Arthella makes me feel old and posh. Thea or Thelle. And my friend is probably someone who Alistair will hate, since he doesn't like another boy hanging on Kia's shoulder, even if he isn't interested in her." Thea grinned as Kia sighed, and Alistair crossed his arms, looking annoyed.
"Do they hate him?" Kylie asked again.
