The group trekked the long underground path that Jin had apparently created as an escape route. The entrance to the path was secured enough that they were confident their enemies wouldn't be able to follow them.
Jungkook hefted the heavy bag he was holding, his clasp on Taehyung's hand tightening as well. "Hyung, how far is this path exactly?"
"Quite far," Jin answered. He lead the group while Suga and Jimin were in the rear. Suga needed to make sure that they were all safe so he would need to guard the back part. And of course, Jimin would be right beside him, safe in his hold.
Being in the back part was not exactly the safest for Jimin, but Suga knew that he would only be content if he knew Jimin was near him. He knew that Jimin would always be safest if he was with him.
Speaking of safety, Suga turned to H who was monitoring his AC Watch.
"Where are they now?" Suga asked.
H looked up at him with a serious look. "They're slowly getting nearer and nearer the house. I don't think they have the idea that we've already left since they didn't really see us leave."
Suga nodded at this information as he twirled his .38 Special S&W revolver that he had not used for a long time now. He was always most comfortable with this gun. It was his favorite. It's the very first gun he had laid his hands on.
H had once offered to put a setting for long-range reach on this revolver just like what he did to Suga's other pistol, but Suga said no. He would rather keep his revolver as it was. Next to his plain-looking silver ring, this was one of the few important things that Suga dearly held on.
"We're almost there," P announced. The four agents had been more prepared now, knowing that the enemy could have prepared something more.
They now started to form a line in accordance to Suga's plan, in which the inseparable Taehyung and Jungkook needed to distribute themselves to their respective baby sitters. H stuck close to Jungkook, clearly traumatized by what happened the last time when their pursuers had managed to get their hands on the younger boy.
Now though, the three youngest in the group were armed with different weapons and devices so that they could also protect themselves just in case.
They were better prepared now.
What the didn't know was that the enemy was just as prepared.
They were now walking the upward slope leading to the opening of the underground path until they finally reached the top of the tunnel. They were now at the mouth of the underground tunnel and Suga could very well see the abandoned building where it was ending. All of them finally stepping foot into the cemented floor of the abandoned building, everybody looked around for any sign of possible enemies hiding.
Jin spoke in a low voice.
"Wait."
They all froze at the serious tone of P, and Suga just knew that there was something wrong.
He could sense danger when it's there, no matter how subtle it might be.
"Something's wrong..." A whispered, biting her lower lip as she looked around.
Positioning Jimin right in front of him so he could easily protect him from behind, Suga closed his eyes and listened carefully to the eerie silence.
Something's just not right.
Something...
Fuck.
"TO YOUR LEFT, P!" Suga shouted.
