Jimin's mind still failed to process everything.
He couldn't be seeing his father, right? Alive and breathing? Right in front of him?
What just happened? Did X really kill himself? Is this all real?
To Jimin, it all seemed real, but he couldn't help thinking that it also was not. Probably he's still in the van right now and sleeping. All of this couldn't be real.
Taehyung turning out to be the spy and almost killing him.
Jungkook almost dying.
His dad, oh damn his dad, suddenly appearing in front of him when he himself had watch him get buried years ago with red swollen eyes.
It's all too much.
"Don't waste your energy, young lad. I've got this covered. Nobody would escape," he heard the familiar voice that he had always kept in his heart. Jimin looked up at the man that perfectly resembled his dad. He watched as Yoongi slowly turned, his eyes meeting the older man's with so much wonder.
Jimin felt himself stop breathing.
"I already asked the agents that I know can be trusted to take care of the rest. These 'pawns', as you call them Agent S, are not worth your time."
"Uh..."
"Damn it, Z. Don't pretend to be so cool in front of my child. You're scaring him," his Uncle Tadashi said, but Jimin barely heard him say anything because his attention was focused on the man that resembled his father.
Jimin frowned. He definitely looked and sounded like his Appa, only that he had a scar on his face.
He watched the said man roll his eyes the same way his father would in the days he felt silly. "Don't ruin my act, Y. You always do that. I need to be in control here, especially in front of the kid who's supposed to marry my son."
That statement snapped Jimin off his trance.
Wait, this really was his father right...?
"A-appa..." Jimin tried again with a quivering voice. He swallowed hard, feeling like his mouth was as dry as a desert.
This made the said man turn, and the frown on his face that was meant for his co-agent changed into a huge and bright smile. Jimin blinked as tears started falling down from his eyes. There was no doubting it. Jimin knew that smile all too well. That smile only belonged to one man, the man who raised him and taught him how to live in this world.
He didn't even see the scar, or the fact that his dad looked a little older now. All he could see is that same smile that was directed to him.
Not a second passed and he was enveloped into a tight hug, the familiar scent of his dad's perfume invading his senses and making him wonder if this was all a dream.
Maybe it was.
"My Chimmy... Sorry that we had to meet again like this. Appa has a lot to explain."
"Oh yes, you do," a voice from afar commented which sounded suspiciously like Y.
Jimin blinked away the tears as he tried to concentrate on his dad's face. "Is this...a dream, Appa?"
The man shook his head rapidly, his hand cupping Jimin's head the way he always used to. "It's not, Chimmy. Appa is here and I'm not leaving you anymore. I'm...so sorry that you had to go through all of this. I needed to do what I had to do, Chimmy. But I'll make sure that nothing will separate you from me again."
There was so much sadness and regret in his father's face. The depth of sincerity was drowning Jimin. His mind was wrapped up with that voice he held on so dear, even though it was filled with sadness and pain as his father spoke.
