*Reader's POV*

"It was pitch black in the room I was in. It was quiet and frightening all at the same time, as the shadows constantly changed around me. Weird colored eyes watched every move I made as I sat huddled in the middle of my bed. The sound of thunder made me rush towards the barred window so I could watch the clouds rolling in. Dark eerie shaped clouds turned from dark blue, to purple to the same color as the shadows in my tiny little room. I heard a soft melody starting to play and covered my ears just as I had been instructed.

I watched the rain pouring down as the shadows began to fade. When the last shadow faded I looked around before closing my eyes and pictured the little tiny vegetable garden I had gotten a glimpse of during my daily walks outside. I focused with all the power in my tiny little body and opened my eyes at the soft cold air that brushed my face. I looked at the swirling black and green vortex I had created. The center turned purple before clearing up to show the little garden on the other side of the portal.

I eyed the surrounding area before stepping through the portal. I landed face first in a pile of dirt that was slowly turning into mud, standing I began to run on shaky legs. My heart pounding as I ran as fast as my little legs could go. I ran until I couldn't run anymore and fell when my legs gave out. I landed in the mud before turning myself over. I smiled as the rain pelted my body, the clothing on my body already soaking wet. I closed my eyes and the rain pelted my face as sleep claimed me."

I shot up in my bed, my body coated with a light sheen of sweat. I looked around and rubbed my face as a weak morning light snuck through the curtains around my bed and hit me in the face. I stood and began to dress before leaving and heading towards a nearby river. I looked into the water and saw my face. I still possessed the same e/c eyes and h/c color I had as a little girl, but now I possessed the face and body of a young woman with lush lips and shadows lurking in the depths of my soul.

I did my daily routine of checking the lines I had set out, and then returned to my home to make breakfast. I made vanilla crème filled crêpes, garnished with fresh blackberries, with a light drizzle of raspberry glaze and sprinkled with sugar. After placing a few mint leaves on top I created a vortex to Porlyusia's tree house. Porlyusia was a slim yet tall elderly woman with reddish eyes, pink hair and an eccentric personality.

She didn't like people, but for some reason she tolerated my presence every morning before I went and ran a few errands for her. I often wondered if she tolerated me was because she was my guardian, the company I gave her, or the food I often brought over with me whenever I went to see her. I knocked on her door and when she opened it I smiled at the familiar attire she wore everyday. She wore a dark green blouse with a tie, and a long maroon colored skirt and a pair of simple boots.

However this time she wasn't wearing the crimson colored cape with its wide collar and horn like decorations. The crescent moon pins that secured the bun at the back of her head glinted in the light as she let me in. I handed her the container and sat down on the floor as she transferred the crêpes onto another plate. "It's been awhile since you've brought me crêpes" she said as she sat in the chair by the desk. I took the plate she offered as well as the fork and said "They're popularity fades a bit over the months, so I thought it'd be nice to surprise you with some today."

She gave me a rare smile after taking a bite and asked "What kind of sweets are you delivering today?" I swallowed the bite in my mouth and said "Lemon Squares with a sweet brown sugar nutmeg topping to Lamia Scale, Orange Crisps with lemon peel shavings to Blue Pegasus, and crème filled blackberry donuts with a light peppermint glaze to Fairy Tail." "Anything new in the works?" she asked. I nodded and said "I'm creating a Mockberry pie with a hint of lemon balm crème. I haven't gotten the right dosage on the herb right so I haven't been able to advertise it yet in the bakeries."
