*Lyon's POV*
All of us were around the tables talking when Natsu suddenly tossed Y/N into the pool. She woke the moment she touched the water, I expected her to immediately surface but to my surprise she didn't. "The pool wasn't that deep was it?" I asked worried. The shook their heads and then the bubbles stopped. Immediately I jumped into the water and nearly gasped at the chilly temperature. The pool hadn't been that deep but now it seemed that it had become deeper. The deeper I swam the pool's opening became smaller as the water turned colder. When I was finally able to see the bottom I spotted Y/N by the whit shorts and boots she wore.
Her hair floated around her head as she remained still and unmoving. My chest tightened and burned with the need to breath, while it seemed to take forever to reach her. Her right arm seemed to be reaching towards the small light the pool above us provided, but she was somehow unable to swim up. The moment I reached the bottom I took her hand, pulled her into my arms and swam back to the top. It was easier to reach the top than it had been to reach the bottom. It was like there was something that kept her from reaching the top, the same thing that tried to prevent me from reaching the bottom.
The moment my head broke through the surface I took a large gasp of air as I swam to the pool's edge. The other's took Y/N's unmoving body from my arms and placed her on the grass. "What happened?" Gray demanded. I pulled myself up and while I panted for breath I said "The pool was deep, very very deep. There was something that prevented her from reaching the surface, but whatever spell that was used vanished the moment I touched her." "She's not moving!" Sherry exclaimed.
"She doesn't have a pulse" Lucy stated as she pressed her fingers against Y/N's neck. "Whoever it was wanted her dead" Erza said softly. I shook off the sense of déjà vu I was feeling as I rushed to her side and placed my head against her chest to see if she had a heartbeat. Then to my surprise she drew in a large gasp of air as her eyes popped open, I saw that her eyes were nothing more than pools of black that slowly faded back to the normal e/c as she rolled over to her hands and knees.
*Reader's POV*
"I was picking some early blooming wildflowers next to the river. Winter had ended months ago, but the water was still high because of the still melting snow and ice. I wasn't worried about falling in since Zeref had made sure that I was immune to the cold and knew how to swim. Suddenly there was a splash and I dropped the flower's I had into the water when I noticed a boy being thrashed about in the water's ice cold currents. His head went under and never resurfaced. I dived into the cold water and swam towards the last place I had seen the boy.
I found him farther down the river, after taking his outstretched hand I swam to the bank where the road to town rested. I placed the boy on his back and checked for a pulse. His pulse was slow, and when I placed my head on his chest his heartbeat was even slower. I removed my head from his chest and sadly looked down at him. Some of the spiky bluish silver strands stuck to his face, and his slanted eyes with their dark lashes closed.
My chest ached as I looked down at him and I summoned a spell that I had been taught by my future husband. I leaned forward and placed my lips against his and the Living Magic I had called entered his body. I pulled away just as he coughed up water and his eyes opened revealing dark colored eyes. He gave me the sweetest smile I had ever seen, before his eyes closed once more. Again I placed my head against his chest and smiled when I heard his heartbeat pick back up. I listened to the steady sound of his heart, before I heard several people gasping.
I looked up and saw a small group of village members. I quickly stood and said "He needs help, he" only for one of the men to interrupt me by saying "Aye he needs help alright, seems that we came just in time to prevent you from killing him off." I shook my head and began to explain "It's not what it looks like. He fell in the river honest!" But they advanced on me anyway. They chased me into the woods and when they caught me they started dragging me back towards the village. Only for a woman that wore a short tan jacket over a maroon tube top, dark jeans and a pair of simple brown shoes began to use Ice-Make magic.
Her dark purple hair was chin length, and her eyes dark as she told me to run. I did as she told me ad ran as far as I could into the snow and ice. I got lost and fell into the snow exhausted, when I woke I saw a pink haired elderly lady offering me soup. She helped me sit up and when I discovered my missing arm began to explain that I had lost it due to a severe case of frostbite. Then she helped me eat and when the soup was gone she asked why I had been in the snow. I told her what happened and after awhile she said she'd take care of me."
I felt someone's face against my chest and I drew in a large gasp of air, my eyes popping open. I rolled over and vomited up the ice cold water in my body. My body shivered as I continued until I started dry heaving. My throat and chest burned as hot tears rolled down my icy face. The shivering soon turned into silent body racking sobs, only for the sobs to fade when I felt a hand on my shoulder. I turned my head and saw Lyon offering me a bottle of water. Slowly he helped me drink like he did when the poison had affected my body.
When he pulled the bottle away I wiped my face off on the back of my hand and whispered "It appears that I owe you and your mentor for more than just saving my life." He shook his head and said "We'll talk about that later, first we need to get you warmed up." I gave him a mild glare and said "I'll be fine, I'm immune to the cold." He gave me a hard look and said "You may be immune to the cold but by the shivers racking your body I assume that your body isn't immune to shock."
However my attention immediately landed on a guilty looking Natsu. My eyes narrowed as I stood and demanded "What could you possibly gain from tossing me into the dammed pool?" "It was a dare" he replied. "You tossed me into the pool because of a DARE? Were you trying to kill me?" I sated. "The pool wasn't that deep I swear" he defended. I rubbed the bridge of my nose and said "I know the pool wasn't your fault, but you tossed me into a body of water without knowing if I could swim or not. As a healer I'm suppose to find an alternative answer to any situation and am not allowed to inflict pain. Personally however I find that in this situation pain is the only suitable response."
Then I struck him in the gut with my prosthetic. He doubled over clutching his stomach as he fell to his knees. I gave everyone a hard look and asked "Any body else want to toss me into the pool?......No? Good. Now if you'll excuse me I'm going to go find a change of clothes."
