Chapter 5

*3rd Person POV*

Gray looked at the frozen bird in shock then at Lyon as he demanded "Why did you do that?" Lyon grinned and said "I met her the other night and soon began to wonder why she hadn't fought me the moment she saw me. I wondered why she was here if she didn't possess any offensive magic and eventually figured out that she's a healer. Strange to find a healer that doesn't possess any magic to defend herself, but without her aid you won't be able to heal as quickly." Natsu left at Gray's request and performed the stance for Iced Shell.

The moment he began to activate the spell Natsu barged back in and punched Gray in the face. The two began to argue only for the temple to re-align itself. Natsu left the room once more and the two Ice-Make mages started to talk to one another. Gray is stabbed with an ice sword, and when he recovers he punches Lyon and a fight without magic begins. They fight until Lyon begins to use magic and breaks his word.

The tow continue to fight even while the temple shakes signaling the near completion of the Moon Drip. Gray attacks an Ice-Make: Clone, and is almost attacked by an Ice-Make: Snow Tiger and ends up trapping both the animal and Lyon in an Ice-Make: Prison. Gray finished off the fight by using an Ice-Make: Cannon. He freeze's the wound he received, only for a loud roar to echo around the entire Island.

The sound of shattering ice filled the room and the snow owl that had been frozen within was finally released.

*Reader's POV*

The sound waves of Deliora's roar shattered the ice around me and I was finally able to move once more. Gray and I rushed into the cave as Natsu says that they should work together. Then I noticed a heavily wounded Lyon making his way into the cave only to be knocked out by Gray, who once again performed the stance for Iced Shell. Lyon quickly awoke and threatened to repeat the Moon Drip ritual, but Natsu stood in front of Gray telling him that he didn't want him to die.

Gray deactivated the spell as Natsu began to prepare to battle the demon. I glided towards the three and when I shifted back to normal I pushed Natsu out of the way just as Deliora raised his fist to smash Natsu. All three of them took a step towards me only to freeze when I looked up and met Deliora's hollow gaze. The demon's fist halted just a few inches above my head when he immediately recognized me the same way I had recognized him, by the blood we both shared. Deliora never looked away from my gaze as he fell to his knees placing his left hand over his heart and to their surprise his fist relaxed as a single scale finger gently reached out to touch me only to for him to crumble into pieces before he could.

I tilted my head in acknowledgement to the defeated demon before turning to face the three mages behind me, only to find out that Natsu and Gray had already left to meet the other Fairy Tail members leaving Lyon and I behind. "All those years spent finding and transporting the demon, and learning how to kill him wasted. I'll never be able to surpass Ur now" Lyon said softly as he stared at what remained of Deliora. I looked at him and said "That's when you find a new goal, and after completing that you find another. Life is just a series of goals to surpass, until there are no more."

I walked towards the others and overheard them talking about the curse. When they faced Lyon he said that him and his followers never interacted with the villagers and that the Moon Drip never affected them. I furrowed my brow in thought and mentioned the dome I had seen surrounding the Island the night I arrived.
