"Draco," Harry hummed, "Dragon."
"You speak Latin?" Draco asked, glancing over to Harry.
"Of course. Doesn't everyone? Isn't that the whole deal with the holy bible? Isn't it in Latin?"
"Some parts, but I suppose you need to know Latin to read it. Have you read it?"
Harry nodded, "out of boredom, yes. I marked all the pages that contained death, adultery, sexism, and so on." Harry paused, "out of boredom. I read it when it first came out, I think. It was a long while ago."
They continued walking in silence, neither of them knowing where they were going. Which should've worried Draco- and originally, it would. He was walking in the middle of the woods with a vampire- one of whom his family probably tried to kill. But he wasn't worried.
He didn't know why, but he wasn't.
They walked for a few more minutes, before the sky began clouding over, and a boom of thunder was heard throughout the heavens.
Not long after, each boy felt a drop of water on their nose.
"Well, water boy, it's your lucky day!" Harry laughed, a grin taking place on his face.
"No! No it is not!" Draco already felt cold- he hated the rain.
"Awh, I thought you liked water?" Harry was still grinning.
Draco frowned. "I don't feel like getting re-soaked because of you, thanks." He huffed.
"It's not because of me- it's not like I can control the gods." Defended Harry as it began to drizzle.
"Can you please find us shelter?" Draco asked lifting the hood of his own cloak and pulling it tighter around his body.
"I suppose," Harry sighed dramatically, "we'll have to hurry, though, if you want to be as dry as possible."
Without another word, Harry grabbed Draco's hand and took off, running as fast as he could- which was... really fucking fast.
Draco couldn't help but stumble and trip over his feet- infact, it was the only thing he could do.
"I-" Draco panted, "I can't run as fast as You!" He yelled over the rain, just as it began to downpour.
Harry slowed down a bit- enough so that Draco could run more than trip.
He was already soaked anyway, not much could change that.
Soon they arrived at a mansion- it was run down, and most of the windows were boarded up, but it was beautiful nonetheless. It even had a garden, with flowers that were surprisingly alive.
"This is my den-"
"I'm not going in there."
The two were still now, but their hands were still together. They never really realized, either.
The rain continued.
"Why not?"
"Because I'll probably die? Hello?" Draco looked at him like he was insane.
"Nonsense. Everyone is sleeping, it's daytime. Mum is the only one who comes out in the daytime to do her gardening. And it's raining, so she has no need to." Harry looked over at Draco, smiling.
Draco shifted his feet, still not wanting to enter the den.
What if someone was awake and recognized him? Or what if they smelled him?
"You really need to make an effort to hide your emotions, your fear is radiating off you." Harry said, scrunching his nose before pulling Draco towards the mansion.
Harry slowly opened the large doors and peaked his head inside, before opening the door wide enough to allow him and Draco to step in.
Draco gaped at the interior- it was beautiful.
Of course, He was accustomed to living in his mansion, considering his family was rich... but somehow, this mansion felt more... inviting, than his own house ever felt.
As soon as you walked in you were on marbled, black and white checkered floors that were in opened space. On the far back stood large, unboarded Windows, and on either side of the walls were two staircases leading up.
There was also large doorways, which didn't have doors, on either side of Draco- one led to a living room, the other, It seemed, led to a library.
"Welcome to my humble Abode." Harry smiled, still holding Draco's hand.
"It's beautiful," Draco gaped, his eyes straying to the Windows, "what about the Windows, though? Don't you burn?"
"We would, but they're made of some sort of glass that keeps the sun from burning us. Every so many years they run out, though, and we need to put a new enchantment on, which is why everyone's bedroom has wooden planks blocking their windows." Harry explained. "Anyway, we need new clothes." He dragged Draco up the left staircase.
On the second floor, there was a large hallway. The walls were made of a type of dark wood, and there was a sort of red carpet leading down to the end of the hall, which led to a large window with a couch under it.
There was multiple bedroom doors, but Harry led Draco to the one furthest down to the left.
"This is my room," Harry said, bringing Draco in.
Instead of boards blocking the Window, there was a long, black curtain. Beside said window was a double bed, pushing against the wall.
The rooms floor was made of dark hardwood, and to the back of the room stood a fireplace.
"Your room is beautiful," Draco commented.
Harry grinned, "thank you- ah, new clothes. Give me a second-" he opened the wardrobe and pulled out a white shirt and a pair of pants, passing them to Draco, "just sit your wet clothes infront if the fire place," he pointed to the fire place,"they'll dry... eventually."
Harry turned around, giving Draco some privacy, who quickly stripped the wet clothes and put on Harry's new ones- which were slightly baggy on him.
The shirt was also slightly see through, which made Draco a little uncomfortable- and it exposed his collarbone's because of the size difference.
After Draco finished getting dressed, he did as told and place the wet clothes infront of the fireplace.
"Have you been awake for twenty-four hours?" Draco asked, remembering how Harry and him met the night prior.
"Yeah, But I'm used to it," Harry finally turned around, also in a new set of clothes.
Then set in the awkward silence- neither of them really knew what to do. It was only 5pm, but Harry must've been tired, right? He never slept... and Draco had to leave- But then again, where would he go? He had no where to go.
Draco opened the curtain slightly, peaking out the window.
It was still pouring, he definitely wasn't going to attempt to walk anywhere at this rate. He'd have to wait.
"Think I could stay here until the rain died down?" Draco asked, still looking outside.
"You can stay here as long as you like," Harry grinned, dropping himself onto his bed.
Draco looked down at Harry, "no, I can't. I'm a human, Harry. In a house full of vampires."
Harry shrugged, "my family is pretty accepting. Heck, Ginny is dating a human- her name is Luna. I'm sure they'll be fine with you staying."
Not if they recognize me, Draco thought.
He turned back to the window, "you should sleep, you haven't slept yet."
"How caring," Harry stretched and yawned, "alright, I'll sleep. Don't go adventuring off into the forest, though. There's monsters who probably want you dead." Harry said, afterwards turning to the wall.
Draco sighed quietly, his eyes trailing to Harry's wooden desk. On it sat a book, and so, to keep himself occupied, he grabbed the book and sat curled up on the cusion chair next to the fire place, beginning to read.
Just until the rain dies down, Draco thought to himself, then I'll leave.
