What was the rain?
A summer shimmer of gold
A dance of a midnight torrential
Washing away my cracked and fractured skin
Crystalline words
Reviving
Sinless
An angel glistening and silver
Gliding along the undergrowth of my sadness
Dampening the barriers of a noxious mind
Streaming my blood in clean in sheets of serene
What was the rain?
The first kiss beneath a stormy reflection
Gathering those storm clouds in your hands
Caressing every droplet
Until my heart seemed to spill from your overflow
Dark eyes
Glinting
Streaking lightning over my thrashing ocean
Soft murmurs of thunder on the horizon
What was the rain?
That first dismal downpour
Depths of hurt and storm in your eyes
Splinters of surfeit pieces gleaming under the cold
Floods and floods
Frozen
Poisonous
Crashing downpours over a solemn window
Watching as each water melded together
Melding with your own tears
What was the rain?
The rain was my tears
Tears that I was not the first to cry
Tears that I was not the last to cry
From your remorseful anchor
Allowing the boat to halt on the surface
Car lights
Numb
Sorrow on your tongue
Meaning in your cry
Liquid in on your skin
A distant touch
What was the rain?
The rain was you
The rain was me
The rain was our constellations
The rain was our end
