Far Side Slums, Rebecca's Apartment complex: October 7th, 2063: 9:00 PM

Rebecca Adler hadn't stopped running since she had glimpsed Shadow Knight in the alleyway near the subway station, and she hadn't stopped thinking about seeing him either.

She couldn't believe it.

A metahuman, a demon, here in the city.

She realised she was living on borrowed time before all the chaos and destruction her parents had told her about that those THINGS caused would occur.

She was going to pick up Kaylie, pack up what they could carry and leave this damn city.

She wasn't going to go through that, or put Kaylie through that.

It would be a thousand times worse than any marauder attack she had ever seen would ever be.

She ran up the partially ruined stairwell up to the floor that her apartment was located on, on the top floor at the end of the hall if the truth be told.

It wasn't much, and her bedroom had a hole in the roof which was problematic come winter...but it was still home.

It was going to hurt her a bit to part with it, but she had no choice.

Hers and Kaylie's safety came first.

It had been that way ever since she had adopted that girl when she found her alone, starving and homeless on the Lunar City streets of the east end.

She burst into her apartment and called out Kaylie's name.

She heard no response, and the memory hit her.

Of course she wasn't here.

Kaylie was at Father Maurice's choir in the Chapple on 8th street, she wouldn't be back until Father Maurice's paladin guards escorted her home with the rest of the children.

Then the best thing she could do would be to pack hers and Kaylie's bags, go to the church and get here and then leave this city before there was no chance of escape from the carnage that that metahuman she had seen was going to cause.

She grabbed her suitcase and bags and began stuffing hers and Kaylie's things into them.

She had just finished packing her underwear (although in her opinion she'd rather burn a few of them) when suddenly she heard a familiar smug chuckle come from behind her.

"Well...." A man's voice spoke to her from behind her, "Never get tired of looking at that backside of yours Rebecca."

She rolled her eyes, "Damn it I should have locked the door" she grumbled under her breath.

She turned around to see that her Pimp boss Marco Sanchez and some tall strong man stranger was standing there in the open doorway she had foolishly left open in her haste to move out of the city.

"What are you doing here Marco?" Rebecca Adler said, not giving any mixed signals about how she felt about having her pimp boss here in her apartment, and with some kind of Gladiator arena reject.

"Say, I can't help but notice you were packing your bags sweetheart" Marco Sanchez pointed out, his smug smile not vanishing from his face as he spoke to her, "You planning on leaving town?"

"I'm going to use up the 1 pebbles worth of sympathy I have for you and tell you to do the same" Rebecca Adler warned, "There is something in this city now, worse than these marauders and the Ghoul Siblings. I've seen it..."

"That's the thing I've come her to talk to you about, The Ghoul Siblings Sadistic Five member called "Bone breaker", apparently, you stabbed him in the leg while in performance of your duties."
