"I hope your mom likes me ? " she pulled out her phone and turned on her camera."Wait babe does my hair look ok ? "
"Mhm ..yeah babe " I go around to the passengers side to open the door for Serena. "Come on babe she will love you I promise ". Serena looked up at me "Babe are you sure ?"
I held my hand out and Serena took it . She got out the car and I closed the door behind her "I'm sure girl damn " I cupped her chin and placed a soft kiss on her lips .
"Finally your here " my mom yelled from the kitchen . I interlocked my fingers with Serena and we walked into the kitchen .
"Aww look at the graduates " My mother rubbed the flower off of her hands onto her apron. "Sophia"
Serena giggled then said "it's Serena ". My mom shot her a death stare then laughed "yeah Sophia - I mean Serena honey go sit in living room while Dakota sets the table ".
"I could help if you want " Serena offered . "Your a guest sweetie " my mom smiled .
Serena looked at me and I nodded . She smiled and walked out of the kitchen . Damn mom
"Really ma ?" I ask while taking the good china down . She shrugged then took a seat at the bar . "So tell me about Serena "
I quickly set the table then sit on the bar stool next to her . " Well she's really sweet ,but at the same time has a mouth that is ruthless. She caring , funny , and she can cook . Uhmmmm .... she hella supportive of everything I do . Also she's my motivation " I said
"Well as long as your happy I'm happy " my mother kissed my forehead .

I think the dinner went pretty well in my opinion. My mom is slowing warming up to Serena. My mom is team Toni , she loves Toni to the moon and back .Who can blame her though ?
"Well thank you for the delicious meal . " Serena said . "I'm glad you enjoyed the food pumpkin " my mother gave her plate to take home with her.

"You sure you don't want me to drive you home ?" I asked Serena for the third time . She rolled her eyes then smiled . "Baby I'm good stay here with you mom . I will shoot you a text once I get there. "
Serena gave me a quick kiss then walked out. I knew my mother was being nosey as hell , because as soon as that door closed she waddled her way from the kitchen . "Did she leave ?" She asked
I kissed my teeth "Ma you know she gone " . She held her back as she slowly sat on the couch. She moved around for awhile but once she got comfortable she took a deep breath.
I laugh while shaking my head "Pregnant ass " . She flicks me off then pats the seat next to her . "Sit we need to talk ".
Of course I did as I was told . She turned on the tv and began to channel surf .
"I'm so proud of you and I want you to know that I'm going to always have your back . " she takes a looks at me with a sad smile . I frown then ask "What's wrong mom ?" .
My mom quickly wiped away the tears that fell ." Your not my little girl anymore. I remember every time I got paid we would go get our toes done . " she sniffed .
"You would laugh so hard when she massaged you little toes ." She cooed . "You used to always say mommy she won't stop tickling me . " I laughed as she did an impersonation of a little girl .
"Oh well your not my little baby anymore ."
"Yeah but we can still get out feet done . I'm not down with getting my nails done though ." I said and my mom grabbed my face. She left multiple kisses on my cheek then let me go . My phone vibrated in my pocket . Immediately I checked the message hoping it was Serena.

I chuckle while locking my phone . Thirsty ?! Nah never that especially when it already mine .
"OH MY !" My mom yelled while hitting my thigh to get my attention. I looked over at the my mom then at the tv screen . It was an apartment complex on fire . Who the hell? How the hell ?
News Reporter: Currently people are trapped in this burning apartment building. As of right now we have over a ten firefighters trying to distinguish the fire . It's not looking to good for the apartments off of 2486 Bridgewater Way.
"Bridgewater Way? Bridgewater Way? " I thought out loud
News Reporter: Twenty of the tenants on the lower floors are being rushed to the hospital due to major injuries.
"Shit !" I curse out loud while fumbling in my pocket for my phone ."What's wrong ?" My mother asked .
Ignoring her question I call Toni but she doesn't pick up . I called her again and got nothing.
"Ma I need your keys" I rushed over to the closet next to the door and grabbed a hoodie.
"What's wrong ?"
"I gotta find her" I pulled the hoodie over my head and put on some slides .
"Find who Dakota ?!"
"Toni !"
I grabbed her keys off the key rack and ran out of the house like my life depended on it . Please be ok ...I need for you to be ok.
