The Next Morning
Toni

"You have everything you need right ?" I walked downstairs with my books for school in one hand and my keys in the other. Zoey nodded her head then took a seat on the sofa . "What's wrong ?"

"Nothing ....well there is something I need to get off my chest. " Zoey patted the seat next her ."Come here "

I sat next to her and waited for her to say what she needed to say . "First I wanted to apologize for everything and I wanted to thank you for coming to get me . Also I need to know that your going to be ok before I leave ."

"I'm going to be fine Zoey but you need to go before you miss your flight ."

Zoey kissed her teeth and caught a slight attitude."Damn bitch you trying to get rid of me already ?!"

I giggled then pulled her in a tight embrace."Something like that but just know I love you sis " . She hugged me then pushed me off of her "I don't feel the love Toni "

"Well it's there "

"Stay outta trouble and send me a invitation for your graduation. That Dakota girl is a keeper too " Zoey said while gathering her things .

"I will and she alright " a small smiled formed on my face . Dakota knows I love her and I will always have her back . Is that enough to make up for all the lies and secrets I've held from her ? There still are some things that I haven't told her yet or confessed to knowing.

"Did you tell her that you knew about her moms boyfriends secret family?" Zoey asked and she knew she called me on my shit .

I shrugged my shoulders then looked down . She laughed then asked "Your telling me you sat there and let that girls mother play house with another woman's man ? Damn Toni that's low even for you ."

"It's not like that ...I was scared to lose her but I lost her anyways . I'm going to tell her I swear "

Seconds later there's a knock on the door. Zoey hops up to answer it . Once she sees who it it she laughs and says "We was just talking about you dead ass."

I rush to the door about to bust my ass literally." What's up Kota ?" I ask

"I was just coming to check on you and to see if you needed a ride to school ." Dakota said

Zoey's messy ass gathered her suitcases quickly and made her way for the door . Dakota stepped in then closed the door behind Zoey . "Thanks for checking in and I'm doing ok. " I walk over to her with my hands in my back pocket .

"So now that your life is not so fucked up what are you plans after high school ?" She asked while taking a few steps closer to me . "I wanted to take a year off and travel a bit . I have some cashed stacked up so hopefully that should get me some places ."

"Alright that's what's up " she took my glasses off my face then put them on hers . "What about you big head and besides you diving in everybody's pussy tongue first ."

She chuckled then licked her lips "Ha you got mad jokes ! For your information I plan on going to Stanford. I already got accepted so I was like what the hell " she said

"Alright that's what's up " I smiled and once again she got closer.

"You know that I gotchu right ?" She asked and I nodded my head yes."Kota we need to goooo before we are late " she giggled as I playfully pushed her.

Dakota

She started to walk off but I pulled her back into a kiss . She wrapped her arms around my neck as she deepened the kiss .

A few minutes later she pulled away and bit down on her bottom lip. She looked everywhere but in my eyes . "Dakota I can't "

I raised a brow ...fuck she mean she can't ? You wasn't saying that a few seconds ago . Instead of saying the first thoughts that came to my mind I said "I don't understand " .

"I have something to tell you "

I got lazy and stopped writing so the next chapter will pick up from here . I wanted to publish something for this week so here ya goooo 😂
