E. Schuyler's POV

Why? Don't they trust me? (No. I sure don't.) Don't they love me? Don't they care at all? I saw it. Kingsley was walking me back home when Henry Laurens went up to the doorstep. Mr. Washington came out and let him look inside. I saw it too. John was dancing with a boy. But not just any boy. I had looked to see his face. And of course it just had to be Alexander Hamilton. Bile rose into my throat when I saw him.

Everything was going wrong.

(Two Hours Ago-King and Eliza are walking to the Schuylers' place)

"And," Kingsley started. I was almost home and he started talking. "There's something I'd really like to ask you Eliza, my love."

"What is it?" I asked, maneuvering myself to see inside the Washingtons' house. And there I saw him.

"You see—my love? Eliza? Elizabeth Schuyler?" He started clapping until he managed to snap me out of my daze.

"Huh?" I asked, now in touch with reality.

"Sweetie are you alright?" He stroked his hands on my cheeks in way that made me feel incredibly guilty.

"N—well, um...yes..." I slowly nodded my head and saw his unbelieving face. "Trust me." I grabbed his hand and pulled him forward a little. "Now, I need to be home. Now." He followed me and tried to adapt to the situation.

"Of course, my love. Howev—"

"So sorry, Kingsley," I blurted out. In my head, I added, "But everything's going wrong."

"Pardon?" He blinked with confusion. So I assumed I had accidentally said it out loud. We were at the doorstep and I was unlocking the door.

"I—uh..." I couldn't think of anything reasonable, so I just did the first thing that came to mind. "Look...this is....just give me time...I'll call you in a week's time tops." I swung the door open and walked inside, turning back to him. "We'll meet up and figure out where we'll go on from there. Okay?" His face looked horrified and confused.

"My love, I—"

"Bye!" I shut the door in his face and ran upstairs to cry.

What kind of communication is that!? He could barely get out a sentence! And now, Alexander's back! And nobody told me!

I took a deep breath and sat down on my bed.

But is it really much of a surprise as to why they didn't tell me? Not really, so calm down. Anyways, the plan is soiled. Time to think up a new one.

The image of John and Alexander flashed through my mind.

No. No. No. No. No. John wouldn't...he couldn't...he knows how much I love him... Unless...he did this on purpose. We heard news of Alexander and Phillip moving up. John suddenly became...giddier... Everyone else became...secretive... And they don't tell me about their arrival. Next thing I know, John was dancing with my boyfriend...

That asshole!

But they don't know that I know. Pretend I don't. And Kingsley... I guess it's time to use my information. I need something against Alexander. Something. Anything. Does Kingsley have any connections outside his family? There's Lee... No good. They'd take him down in an instant. Let me call him and see what I can do.

Knock-knock-knock

A few knocks on the door stop me from picking up my phone to call Kingsley.

"Come in," I chirp. I try to sweeten my voice to really project a sweet Eliza image. Then I remember...nobody knows I'm home...
