A. Hamilton's POV

"The Washingtons are a spectacular couple," Seabury described. Apparently, he used to be a lawyer. He was assigned to the supposedly popular George's Dispute. He always had to defend King, even though he saw that Washington was the innocent one. When King was finally locked up, he lost interest and gave up lawyering, but still remained friends with Washington. Now, he wanted us to go live with them as an alternative to going into the foster care system. "They live up in New York. Yes, they have made quite a name for themselves. And they have a child—adopted. On the description it says 'Be ready to accept an affectionate, loving, hilarious, pansexual, non-binary, French, talkative teen for who they are. Or forget it.'" Seabury chuckled at that. I smiled too, at how protective this couple was over their adoptive child.

"We can do that," I grinned.

"Great! Phillip, you can go to New York with me tonight to meet the family of three. We'll only stay there for five hours then come right back. Here are two phones so you can call each other, anyway." He handed me the phones as Pip's eyes widened.

"Wait—New York?" he asked, obviously shocked.

"Yeah, is there a problem?" Seabury looked disappointed. Like he wanted us to be with the Washingtons.

"Like, New York City?" Oh. OH. Oh. (I do this all the time, I just had to.) New York City is where the Burrs and Schuylers moved to!

"Yeah...?"

"No problem, Seabury," I spoke up since Pip was obviously just gonna leave this man in the dark corner he was in. "New York City is just were some of our childhood friends moved to."

"Lexi!" Pip jumped and squeezed my arm with his good hand. My arm was a little sore, but I ignored it and kept from wincing. "We could see Teddy again!" Right, Teddy. I fought a smirk.

"Let's not get our hopes up, but that is a possibility," I shrugged, quoting something I'd heard from Burr once.

"Well," Seabury added. "There's a chance you'll already have friends. So that's good."

"Muy bien!" Pip was still excited and obviously not taking Burr's advice. I wasn't taking it either and was excited to see the sisters. Especially Peggy and Angelica.

"We'll tour the city, so you might meet your friends, Phillip. Alexander, don't worry we'll be back soon. Phillip and I will leave at midnight to get there by seven a.m. We'll start coming back by noon, and should get back by seven p.m. We won't even be gone a whole day," Seabury smiled again. He checked the clock on the wall and I realized it was almost eleven-thirty and that they should get going.

"And I'll send you pictures of cosas interesantes and numbers of gente importante! That way it's memorable, even if we don't like the Washingtons. But I know I'll love New York! I just know it! ¡Es asombroso!" Phillip was bouncing around as Seabury made his way to the door.

"Phillip, in New York, you can be a new man," I decided to give an inspirational speech and started with another quote from Burr. "¡Vaya tomar el mundo por la tormenta! ¡Ve a hacer lo que siempre has tenido en ti para hacer! ¡Ve a explorar América! ¡Vaya más allá de los sickos que intentan atacarle! ¡Vaya hacer mamá orgullosa!" Pip went wild, hollering and cheering. I joined him by pumping my fists and moving my body as much as I could while in a hospital bed. Seabury watched in confusion and satisfaction. "Plus, free food," I added. Pip snorted and walked over to the door with Seabury.

"Text me, Lexi!" he hollered from the half closed door.

"See ya next week, Pip Squeak!" I answered. A confused Seabury bust though the door.
