P. Schuyler's POV

He finally picked up the phone.

"Peggy? Peggy, finally. I just want to know if you're okay."

"Junior..."

"Peggy? What's wrong?"

"She... R-Rachel..."

"John told me. Will you be alright?"

"The hell?"

"Excuse me?"

"How can you just not care!?"

"I do, it's just—"

"Sure aren't acting like it!"

"We didn't have a personal connection, okay? I met her once, and while it's upsetting news, your feelings are my priority. You actually knew her."

"Bullshit!"

"How!? Y'know what, I won't raise my voice. Calm down and call me back when grief isn't distorting  your cognitive abilities."

M. Lewis' POV

Unsure of what to do, I sat on the bed. When Peggy finished her call, she looked at me and went red. At first, she was red from anger, then it turned into a blush kind of thing. I blinked, then realized that I was on her bed and not mine. I scampered up to my feet and hurried over to my own bed.

Blushing, I said, "So."

"So," she replied. "I guess we're sharing a room." For a moment, I was confused. We'd already known that for a few days now, unless she was second guessing the decision.

"Do you...not want to?"

"I do!" she said with lightening speed. I tensed up at it and brought my feet up into my bed. Peggy retreated into herself and muttered, "I do... Just... it's kinda weird. I don't mean..."

"It's okay," I smiled. I knew what she was trying to say, and last time, interupting her worked like a charm.

Suddenly, Peggy shot up from her bed, "You know what? Fuck it." She had a scowl on her face and her fists were clenched up. Scared, I gulped and wrapped my arms around my knees, loose enough to dart up over my face if needed. She folded her arms and leaned on her bedpost. "I didn't mean to startle you, but no more apologies for pointless things. I've been through so much shit and I can't do this anymore."

"Peggy?"

She looked at me with a hellish look and flatly said, "You have no idea how much I've been through in the past few years. It was manageable for a while, but in the past month everything escalated so fast..."

"Um..." I readjusted myself. Instead of putting up my walls, I sat on my knees and went to the edge. I gave her a small smile, hoping she would see and walk through the door I'd just built for her.
