16. The Best Thing About Best Friends Is That They Are Annoying

~Chapter Sixteen - The best thing about best friends is that they are annoying~

"What is this?!" I could only stare at the picture on the screen of my computer. It was undoubtedly me in the red dress. My hand was in Blade's hand and we were standing a couple of feet apart. We were staring into each other's eyes like lovers. I had to say, we looked incredible. Like one of those models. Someone had really played with the real picture using Photoshop to make it look even more intriguing. The background was darker while the two of us glowed. It was like a scene out of fairy tale.

But I couldn't ignore Blade's eyes trained on me in the picture. The memories of last night came back. He looked really good and his hair were so soft. I touched them last night. The feel of his silky hair against my fingers.... It was so lovely. I want to do that again. Oh! Oh! Wait! I think I drank too much. Yeah, I got drunk. I don't think I did anything weird. It's not like I don't have any memories of last night. They are just vague.

"Look at these beautiful words," Hailey, who was sitting at my side, pointing at the black text.

I was sleeping in my room when she had suddenly barged in and forced me to wake up. I wanted to kill her so much at that moment. Then she opened my laptop and showed me what she wanted me to see. A really pretty photograph of me and Blade in a party.

THE HEARTBREAKER FINDS HER MATCH

"Who are they talking about?" I frowned. Maybe Hailey didn't want me to look at that picture but at the gossip column.

"Of course you," Hailey rolled her eyes.

"Heartbreaker? Me?" I pointed at myself.

"Have you lost count of the number of boys you have rejected?"

"But that doesn't make me a heartbreaker. Those words don't put me under a good light." I narrowed my eyes at the offending words. "It sounds like I get involved boys and then dump them heartlessly."

"You dump them heartlessly. But you never get involved with them."

"I don't understand this crap. Am I doing something wrong with what I'm doing?"

"No, you are not. But that's not the point. Read this article."

The girl known to reject boys without even thinking twice was finally seen cozying up with Blade Brown in a party last night. Dressed in a red floor length dress, Ashley Donalds looked like a true princess. But our Blade Brown didn't look less than a Prince Charming.

"Ah! I love Mia." I nodded in appreciation at her words. Hailey punched me in the arm and then pointed at somewhere in the middle of the article.

"Read from here," she said.

Blade and Ashley became friends with the beginning of senior year. This happened after Caleb Long got himself Natalie Ellis as his girlfriend. The lonely Ashley found solace in Blade and now they seem to be more than just friends. Though we don't know it officially yet, Ashley and Blade might already be going out. We can't deny how incredible this couple look together. Looks like the heartbreaker won't be receiving any confessions in the near future now that she has finally got a boyfriend.

"What is this?" My eyes widened as they fell on another picture that appeared when I scrolled down the screen.

"Apparently Caleb was also in that ball last night with a blonde." When Hailey told me that, my mouth was hanging open. "Though you left without taking notice of him. But he showed up there with a date who was not his girlfriend."
