i wake up the next morning without anthony.
i gathered my stuff and take them into the bathroom with me.
i take a long shower and change into some comfy clothes.
walking out to the kitchen i notice that only chance is here.
i get some water and sit on the couch with him.
his eyes are puffy, like he's been crying.
"hey chance. are you okay?" i ask him.
he keeps his head down and replies 'yea' so quietly, i could hardly hear him.
i place my hand under his chin, and move his face to look at me.
"what's wrong?"
"tessa and i broke up."
i was slightly shocked to hear this, considering how much they seemed to like each other.
" why?" my curiosity took over me.
"everyone thinks im cheating on her, so we decided to just end it."
i have been seeing posts on Instagram calling him a 'cheater' and 'fuck boy'.
i wrapped my arms around him and pulled him close. he seemed so hurt, and i knew he needed a friend.
"everything is going to be okay." i said and we pulled apart from the hug.
he seemed better now, like he just needed to know someone is always here for him.
"jake, anthony, and kade went to the store. tessa and erika went with them i think." he must've seen the look on my face.
"okay... looks like it's just me and you!" i said.
"okay. im gonna go take a nap right now though, see you later." he said getting up.
i was slightly hurt that he just got up and left me all alone, but I'll get over it.
i was watching a movie when i heard the front door open, and everyone walked in.
a series of 'hi' and 'sups' were given until i saw tessa.
i decided to talk to her about the breakup.
she told me that she was okay, and that it was for the best. we hugged and i walked over to anthony.
"hey beautiful" he said while embracing me in a hug.
" hi, where did you guys go?" i asked him.
"the store."
"um...may i ask why?"
"it's not important right now." he replied.
he was being secretive.
i didn't put much thought into it and just walked back to finish watching the movie.
about an hour later, anthony finally come back inside.
he had gone outside with all of the bags of goodies, and i don't know what he had been doing.
"babe" he said.
'my new favorite nick name from anthony'
"yeah" i called back.
he walked over to the couch and grabbed my hand, gesturing for me to stand up.
" i need to show you something" he said.
with a groan i got up and held my arms up.
"carry me?" i said in my best baby voice impression.
he laughed and picked me up bridal style and i wrapped my arms around his neck.
"close your eyes"
i did as told and he began to walk out to the back.
when we got there he put me down but kept his hands over my eyes to keep them from seeing anything.
we walked a little farther until i knew we were in front of the pool.
"anthony trujillo don't you DARE throw me in this pool." i said
he laughed and said "im not"
"okay...3...2...1...open your eyes"
he removed his hands and i opened my eyes reveling the beautiful set up he had arranged.
along the sides of the pools were lit candles, making outside look beautiful since the sun was going down.
there were fake red rose petals in the pool making everything look even more beautiful.
and finally, on the wall behind the pool i could see tessa, jake, and erika hold up a sign.
written in big, but neat, cursive handwriting 'Late Night Swim?'
i turned to anthony and pulled him into a hug.
"only if we consider this a date." i mumbled into his chest.
"of course, babe" he replied with a kiss on my forehead.
