"Morning," Astrid said to Hiccup, who was reading some T. Mail from Berk.
"Dad says there's an emergency, and we need to head out," Hiccup said, getting up. He threw the paper at Toothless, who gladly blew it up.
"Where?" She asked. She then pursued to call Stormfly.
"Berk, where else?" He asked.
"Did he say what the emergency was?"
"No, just said we need to be there immediately," Hiccup answered, taking to the sky. Stormfly and Astrid soon followed suit, meeting the other Riders in the sky.
"Where's the danger?" Tuffnut asked, half asleep on his dragon.
"Berk. Dad said we need to get there immediately," Hiccup repeated, heading in the direction of the main island.
After three hours of flight, the wary Riders finally reach Berk, only to be greeted by a worried Chief and Gobber.
"Hiccup. Its Skullcrusher. He's green," Gobber said, whispering the last part.
"Gobber, Skullcrusher is always green. But is that the reason I'm here? Because of Skullcrusher?" Hiccup asked.
"I'm afraid so. We were flying over one of the northernmost islands, when Skullcrusher just went down," Stoick described, getting on Toothless. "You guys stay here with Gobber. Toothless will send a distress signal if we need extra help," Stoick said to the other Riders. He winked at Astrid before Toothless took off.
"What was all that about?" Tuff asked Astrid.
"Hiccup's birthday is today, and we're throwing a surprise party," Astrid said, turning towards Berk. She waved as Windshear and Shattermaster came into view.
"Hey. What's the deal?" Heather asked, jumping off Windshear. She then grabbed her bag from the horn on Windshear's saddle, throwing it over her neck.
"Hiccup's birthday. We're throwing him a party, and we need your help," Astrid explained, starting to walk in the direction of the Great Hall.
"Why?" Dagur asked.
"Because, I think Hiccup would enjoy his quote on quote brother and sister being there for his birthday," Astrid said. On the way to the Great Hall, they passed by Hiccup's house. Astrid pulled something from the satchel she was carrying. "Give me one of the knives I told you to bring Heather." Hesitantly, Heather handed the dagger over, giving it to Astrid blade first.
Astrid raised the knife, and stuck it in the door. She then gestured for the crew to follow her up to Gothi's hut, doing the same thing with that letter. Finally, after ten letters, they ended up at the Great Hall. "Now we can decorate," Astrid said, smile decorating her face.
"Let's do this Chicken," Tuff said. Chicken just squaked in return.
"Chicken's right. We really don't decorate," Ruff said. Everyone stared at her blankly.
"You speak Chicken?" Tuffnut asked.
"No, but I can read your mind," Ruff answered.
"Oh Thor. Not this again," Astrid groaned. She opened the door to the Hall, and stood in the big entrance. She remembered coming in here with all the animals years ago. Another great memory with Hiccup.
"So, as much as I hate to admit it, Ruff's right. We're Vikings. We don't decorate," Fishlegs said sheepishly. "Although, the place could use it."
"We're Vikings. We don't train enemies, or accept scrawny future Chiefs, but here we are," Astrid said, gesturing to the portrait of Hiccup and Stoick on the wall.
