Astrid looked for the look in his eye to tell her he was joking, but it was nonexistent.

"Everybody, get out," Astrid seethed. To say the least, she was fuming.

Everyone filed out one by one, all except for Toothless, who refused to leave. He didnt want Astrid to hurt Hiccup.

"Toothless, you to. I promise, he only might lose a limb. Not promising which one," she said, a sneer decorating her face. She looked at Hiccup, who was casually leaning against the wall.

Toothless grumbled, and walked out. Astrid closed the door, and the pair started yelling. Well, Astrid was yelling, and Hiccup was doing it in his twisted way of staying quiet.

"What are you thinking? I mean quit? I can force them to build it until their fingers are falling off. I have no problem with that," Astrid said, now pacing.

"I know you wouldn't hesitate to do that. But what happens after that? When they destroy my hut, they rebuild it, and do it again next week. I've gone through the cycle," Hiccup explained. "When will it stop? When the Edge is nothing but smouldering ash? Well, Snotlout can deal with it now."

"Wait? Your not putting me in charge?" Astrid asked, stopping dead in her tracks.

"No, I'm not. Your coming with me to Berk," Hiccup said.

"I will do no such thing!" Astrid stated her resentment for quitting just like Hiccup.

"Yes, you will. I am the man of our house. And, as such, you are my betrothed, meaning, you do what I say. No matter what you think, you are my betrothed, I am not yours."

"Hiccup, you can't!" Astrid screamed. She never believed he would say such things. Especially to her.

"I can, and I will. We leave in the morning," he spoke with the tone of if he was talking to a young child. It was calm, quiet. It was Hiccup, inside and out.

"Well, I can rule out the possibility of an imposter," she said.

Early the next morning, Hiccup and Astrid disembarked from the Edge. They would send the A-Team to the Edge, while on Berk, Astrid would train new ones.

"So where are we headed?" Astrid asked, watching them veer away from Berk once it got into sight. Hiccup landed on a sea stack, and Astrid followed suit.

"Well, you wanted to know what's going on," Hiccup said, sitting on the edge of the stack.

"What do you mean?" She asked, every trace of the old Hiccup present.

"I mean that I am not actually quitting from the Riders. This will only last until Snotlout gets sick of my responsibilities," Hiccup replied. "We'll camp out here until he does."

"I was wondering what the camping gear was for," she replied, helping Hiccup unload Toothless and Stormfly.

"Well, if it came up, I was going to tell you you would be helping upgrade the stables," Hiccup replied. He lifted up a heavy bag, and grunted under the pressure. Just as he was about to set it down, his metal leg bent. "Aw, c'mon," he complained.

"What's the problem, can't you replace it?" She asked.

"No. I took them out of my saddlebag thinking I wouldn't need them," he replied.

"Why would you take them out of your bag?" She asked.

"Well, because. I needed to take it out for the gear that we would need here," he replied.

"Look. Berk isn't too far away. I'll steal one. Are they in your room?" She asked.

"Yeah. They are in my desk drawer. Its full of different samples and such. There is one exact replica of mine somewhere," he replied.

"Okay, I'll go get one," Astrid said, climbing on Stormfly.

"Uh, you can't take Stormfly," Hiccup said.

"Why not?" Astrid asked.

"Because, I can't fly Toothless. If I need to get out of here, Stormfly is the only dragon I can ride," Hiccup explained.

Astrid then dismounted Stormfly, and got on Toothless. "I'm glad you and I aren't quitting," she said.

"Me too," was his reply. He watched as Astrid and Toothless took off. "Well, looks like its just you and me," Hiccup said.

Stormfly squaked and flapped her wings. Something was scaring her. "What is it girl?" He asked. Sadly, there was no time for mind conversations. He had to figure this out on his own.

He pulled out Inferno, and held it out in front of him, moving it every once and awhile. He leaned on Stormfly for support. "Hello?" He called out.

Nothing.

"Hello? Who are you?" He asked again.

Again, no answer.

He put Inferno back, and turned to Stormfly, when a cloud of fog overtook him. He looked around frantically, but could see nothing. Taking a step forward, he fell on his stomach. "Hello," a voice called out. This made Hiccup worry. It was vaguely familiar.

Getting up, Hiccup reached for Stormfly, who thankfully came to his aid. She lowered her head, and allowed him to get on. Hiccup drew Inferno, and waved it in front of him.

"Interesting," the voice spoke. "The Great Night Fury Rider, without his Night Fury."

"I'm not the Great Night Fury Rider," Hiccup replied.

"Oh yes you are. My father told me great tales of you being one with your dragon. How you two would fly through the sky, shooting down all of his ships. When he told me one story, I would beg and beg for more. That, was when I was a child. Now, I seek the stories from you. What is the secret?" She asked. She landed with a thud next to Stormfly.

"What do you mean?" He asked.

"How do you fly a dragon?" She asked, hot breath cascading down Hiccup's neck.

"My betrothed is going to flip if she sees us this close," he replied.

"Let her. I want to know the secrets. You let me, and I will take you far away," she said, getting into the uncomfortable zone.

"No. I can't. Not only would she be furious, but so would I. Your not getting the information about how to train a dragon," he said. She backed away, and when she did, the fog lifted. Her voice was distant, but it was unmistakable.

"Then the Night Fury is mine."
