Atticus' POV//

It was the worse 15 minutes of my life. Adam eventually showed up and met us all at the hospital and comforted me while we waited.  I could see River was uncomfortable the whole time but Adam is my boyfriend, not him.

Eventually, the doctor came out and told us that Parker made it out of surgery safely and that he was okay. Thankfully.

Everyone, meaning My dad, River, Adam, Kason and Hayden, were in my apartment eating since we all missed visiting hours during our wait.

Adam ordered 3 pizzas and payed for it even after i told him that i could pitch in on the price. He refused.

"So when did you get this place anyway?" Kason asks plopping two pieces of plain cheese pizza slices on his plate

"Well Plain Jane" I tease before continuing, " after my and Adam got together i was talking about how i needed somewhere permanent to stay versus living with my dad my whole semester here so he let me move into his apartment"

"And you just happen to share a room?"

I avert my gaze over to River and see him staring at me with furrowed eyebrows

"We shared a room when we were together" I sass crossing my arms at his attitude

Kason choked on his pizza beside me and his eyes bulge from their sockets, "You two were together??"

"Not officially" Me and River both speak in unison looking over at Kason

"They were definitely in love with eachother though" Hayden shrugs munching on a cinnamon bun in the corner while staring at his phone

Kason reaches over and hits Hayden across the head before i roll my eyes and make my way to the living room, "We werent in love with eachother"

"Oh?" River snaps looking over at me, "Last i remember i saved you from your creep ass boyfriend and you ran into my arms saying you loved me"

"Oh my god River!" I shout at him, "Im sorry that you dont have my undivided attention anymore!"

"Who the hell said i wanted your attention?" He argues back at me standing up and walking to where i was sitting

"You dont even have to be here!" I growl pushing up from my seat and becoming face to face with him, "I was happy here with my boyfriend and my friends!"

"Happy?" River scoffs stepping back and respecting my space, "You would text me every night saying how miserable you were!"

"Can we not argue in front of everyone here? Please?!" I groan before sitting back down and pushing my hair out of my face, "I have enough on my plate as is"

"Im leaving" River sighs before grabbing his jacket and making his way out the door before i drop my head in my hands

"Babe?" Adam asks cautiously stepping to me and setting an arm on my shoulder

"No!" I yell causing everyone to jump from my outburst, "I'll be back"

I race out of my chair and out the door, guiding my way down the hallway in the direction i hope River is heading in.

So much can change in 24 hours
