Chapter nineteen
I smile to myself as I drive home.
I finally got my girl. My baby. My sunshine.
I thought that I could never be in love with someone even close to how in love I was with Lauren.
Obviously, I was wrong. My babe is my whole world. Also, I'm moving to America until she graduates and we will see what happens from there. Mom and dad were not happy, but somehow they understood. Mom, dad, and Alayha are all coming to meet her soon, and even though Ruthanna is nervous, they've got to love her. No way that they won't.
I smirk, reading again the poem that she wrote for me when we first actually met in person, but just now gave to me. She's so cute, I can't even.
Please release my heart, for you are causing it to fall apart.
I would do anything that you asked of me, simply because your smile makes me so happy.
I don't know you, but you hold the power to crush my heart.
You don't know me, but have kept me from falling apart.
If ever I have a rough day, you do your best to make sure that I am okay.
And I try to do the same for you, but you always pretend to be so strong.
But you don't always have to be okay.
Tears show that we are strong, feelings make us human and sharing them is not wrong.
You pull all of the strings attached to my heart.
Please release your power over me, before I fall apart.
I grin, glad that nobody is here to see me blushing right now. Ruth helped me pick out this apartment. It was her favorite, probably from the whole world because of the light green color on the walls and the sunshine which makes everything look so happy and bright.
And I blush, just like a child. The power that this woman has over me is unbelievable.
It really should be illegal.
