The Key

The key that he found and grabbed was none other than a golden key. Once he grabbed it the pond wasn't glowing anymore. He was shaking, he wasn't expecting to find this at all.

He put the key somewhere safe with the biggest smile on his face. He couldn't wait to go back to the guild, to see that certain someone. He had the gift of a lifetime in his pockets and it could be the key to her heart if he unlocked it right.

He slept for the night, he made his way to next town right at sunrise. As soon as he got to town, he got a cart and rode faster than he ever has before. Days passed until he made it to a town that had a train station. Next stop was straight to Lucy.

Took a couple hours but he had made it to the guild. He walked in and searched for the blonde. Mirajane saw him and greeted him, "Freed, back from that far away mission aren't you? But why does it seem like you're on a quest for something else?" He smiled. "Hello, Mirajane. Yes, I'm back and I'm looking for a certain blon..." " Oh, Laxus he is over there." She interrupted. Freed's eyebrows scrunched up while he looked at her, "Not him." He said shaking his head.

She looked at him for a bit then gave him questioning eyes. She started to think, "Then, perhaps... are you looking for Lucy?" She asked tilting her head a bit. 

Freed gave a loving smile, "Yes."

"Oh, she just went on a mission with Natsu." She smiled to herself. "It's very important." Mira smiled since she has been waiting for this mission to be completed.

"Oh..." Freed said with sadness. Mira caught it but let it passed, "Yeah."

Freed thanked her and went to sit with his team. 

They welcomed him back and teased him on how he's a big boy that could go on missions all by himself. He was half listening. The thought of Lucy's smile just couldn't get out of his head. He was excited to be able to see it as soon as she got back.
