I'm teaching myself
To master the art
Of chia pudding,
But I'm also learning
To be patient;
I need to give
The seeds
Time to swell.

I'm teaching myself
To perfect
My acai bowls
But I'm also learning
That timing counts;
The berries taste like soil at first,
But in the form of a berry bowl,
They are heavenly.

I'm teaching myself
To handpick the ingredients
For my smoothie jars,
But I'm also learning
That not all change, is bad change;
The elements go from
Fruit to pulp,
And become
A completely different kind
Of ambrosia.

I'm teaching myself
To fearlessly approach
New variations
Of good old avocado toast,
But I'm also learning
To be independent;
If avocado can be confident
That it'll be as divine paired with something
As it is alone,
So can I.

I'm teaching myself
To refine the quality
Of my crêpes,
But I'm also learning
To love myself;
Crêpes can be both loved, and banished,
But will not think
Any less of themselves,
So neither should I.
