KAI'S P.O.V.
I pull the covers off of TJ to reveal his left shoulder with no arm attached.
I put my hands over my face. TJ starts crying.
"It's ok TJ. It's ok." I say.
TJ'S P.O.V.
I start crying. Kai tells me it'll be ok but I know it won't. For some reason none of this seems real. Like I'm in a dream. No, not a dream. A nightmare.
A nightmare that I will never wake up from. One that will scar me for life. One that will haunt me forever.
"Why? Why did it have to be amputated?" I ask the doctor.
"There were germs and diseases on the bullet. Made that way to kill someone. The infection had spread to your lower arm. We stopped it from going to the rest of your body by amputating your arm. It was our only option. We needed a fast way to stop it and that was the fastest way. We went to O.R.1 straight to ortho( I watch medical shows so I know what I'm talking about :P) to remove your arm. We can get you a prosthetic arm-" I cut him off.
"No. I don't want that. " I tell him.
"T.J" my dad says
"NO! I'm not having a fake arm."
"Don't be stubborn. " my dad tells me.
"I'm not being stubborn! I'm just scared. "
"There is nothing to worry about. And if you don't want the arm it's fine. But if you change your mind let us know. Now, we will keep you here a few days just to be safe about the infection. We are sure we took care of it but it is the rules to be safe." The doctor tells us.
I nod in agreement. The doctor nods back and walks out of the room.
"I'm getting something to eat." Dad tells me.
"Whatever. " I say.
Kai is sitting on the bed next to me still. I sit up and kiss her.
"I know you're not ok." She says.
" I know. I'm just stressed scared and shocked."
"We all are. But you'll be fine. Trust me." And with that I kiss her again.
When we pull away I ask, "so does this mean we're dating? "
"What do you think?" She asks and kisses me.
"I think 'Yes'." We smile and laugh.
