KAI'S P.O.V.
As we sit in the waiting room I get a text message. It's from Bug.
"Hey. Where are you? I went to your window and I didn't see you."
Being reminded of where I was and why I was here made me cry. I didn't feel like texting so I called her.
"Hello?" She asks sounding confused.
"Hey Bug. Sorry. I'm at the hospital-" she cut me off.
"OMG!! WHAT ARE YOU DOING THERE?!?! ARE YOU ALRIGHT?!?!?" She screams through the phone.
"Yeah. I'm fine. It's T.J who isn't."
"What happened?!"
"He was shot in the shoulder and was rushed to O.R. Before an infection or anything else could set in." I tell her.
"Oh. Well has he come back?"
"No. We've been waiting here for like 10 minutes. I'm sure we'll be here for at least another 20 or 30."
"Ok. Call me and update me."
"I will." I say and hang up.
"Here," Toby says and hands me some money, "go to the cafeteria and eat. I'll text or call you if he gets here before you're done."
I take the money and nod. I find my way to the cafeteria and look for something good to eat.
A grilled cheese sandwich. With a side salad and crisps.
I eat it all and sit there for a while. My phone vibrates and I see the text.
" HE'S BACK AND HE'S AWAKE!!" It reads.
I run back to the waiting room. Toby is standing in the door way.
"This way." He says leading me to a room.
When he get there I see T.J. I run up to him and give him a big kiss.
And I pull away slowly and go in for a hug. He hugs me with his one good arm. The other is under the covers.
"Now. We usually have to ask permission but, an infection had set in and if we waited any longer it could have spread." The doctor said.
"What do you mean?" I ask.
"I'm sorry say but, we had to amputate his arm."
