TJ'S P.O.V.
I look down at my shoulder regretting that I even did. It was gross. I had no shirt on and I stood there in my boxers with blood dripping down my body. I take my hand off the bullet hole and look closely. The bullet had gone in at least an inch or two deep. I could see the flesh and meat that is supposed to be hidden by my skin.
I put my hand back over my hole and walk down the hall light headed. I lean against the wall and let fear and terror rule and suck me into darkness.
It all goes black.
KAI'S P.O.V.
I sit on my bed and text TJ.
He doesn't reply. I text him again. Again, no reply. I dial the number and it rings. And rings. It goes to voice mail. I leave a message.
"Hey TJ, it's Kai. Just wanted to talk to you. Um, call me back whenever you get the chance. Bye."
I wait about 5 minutes until I call again.
TOBY'S P. O.V. (TJ's dad)
I run in the house and grab a few of TJ's things. And I notice his phone ringing. Also 3 missed texts and 1 missed call.
"Hello?" I ask trying to hurry.
"Hi. Um. Is TJ there?" They ask.
"No there's been an accident. He's being rushed to the hospital." I say trying no to cry.
"Oh my god. What happened?" They ask.
"Look kid. I don't have time to talk. Who is this anyways?" I ask frustrated.
"My name is Kai. I'm TJ'S...." she trailed off. "We are really good friends." She continued.
"Well I have to go." I say about to hang up.
"Wait! Please I'm begging. Take me with you." She pleads.
"Fine."
"Thanks. I'll meet you on the corner of South Main and Fifth. "
"Ok bye." I say and run out of the flat.
KAI'S P.O.V.
I run grab my coat and run out of the house. Run as fast as I can to the corner.
When I get there I am bent over trying to catch my breath and hold back tears.
"Please Lord. Not again. I can't. If he dies, who next? Bug? My mother? Me?!" I say to myself.
I see a car pull over and roll the window down.
"Are you Kai?" The man in the car asks.
"Are you TJ's dad? " I ask.
"Get in." He says montioning for me to get in the car.
I get in and we speed down the road.
HANNAH'S P.O.V.
I see Kai run out the door and not stop. I try to say something but it was too late. I just guess that she is going to Bug's house to hang out.
KAI'S P.O.V.
We get to the hospital and I see the ambulance parked. I also see them pull someone out of the back.
TJ.
I get out of the car and run towards him. I get to him and they yell at my to back away.
"TJ!" I scream crying. "IT'S ME KAI. I DON'T KNOW WHAT HAPPENED BUT I'M HERE. I'm not leaving." I get pushed back and just stand there and wait. I feel a hand on my shoulder.
I look up and see his dad. "What happened?" I ask. "He was shot. Some lunatic tried to break into our house. Turns out he had a gun." I see his eyes fill with tears.
"Oh god-damn-it!" He yells squeezing the bridge of his nose. "I shouldn't have left him home alone. His mother.." he trails off. "His mother went that way. She was about to close up her Shoppe when some guy came in and put a bullet right..." he stops again and leves it at that.
We walk in slowly and watch them set him up in a bed.
"Patient shot left shoulder. One bullet about 1and a half inches deep. Size 4cm bullet from a, a. I can't tell what kind of gun. The only gun that these bullets work in are only sold in America." the one nurse says.
"We need to get him in to an O.R stat, he is losing blood quickly so apply pressured until we get to the O.R." another says.
I look at TJ as the rush him towards the elevator.
"Is this your son?" They ask Toby. "Yes." He replys. "We need to get him to an O.R and remove the bullet before an infection or other damage can be caused."
He just simply nods. Looking lost for words. "Will he be ok?" I ask. "He sould be fine as long as no infection sets in and we keep his blood levels normal." I nod and he walks off to help another patient.
We walk to the waiting room and sit down. And wait, in silence.
