I hate to post so soon after that cliffhanger but I'm feeling nice and I wanted you all to have chapter 4 now. So enjoy!

Chapter 4

I lifted my heavy eyes and saw I was in the back of a van. My mouth was covered with a gag made from a towel or something. Two men sat facing me and I noticed they each had guns on their belts. One of the men narrowed his eyes at me when he saw me looking.

"She's waking up." He yelled, turning his head sideways, like he was talking to someone else. Maybe the driver of the van.

"Deal with it." A male voice said in response.

The man who was watching me stood up and came towards me. The back of the van didn't have much room but enough that I had a few seconds before he reached me.

I tried moving my hands but they were tied behind my back. But my legs weren't.

With one, fluid motion, I swung my legs around and knocked the guard off his feet and onto his butt. His head smacked the floor of the van and he groaned.

"I'm gonna need some help back here." The other man said. He looked a little uneasy about having to deal with me. Which I was glad for.

The van stopped suddenly and I rolled into the man I'd knocked down.

"You little-"

"Terrance, off."

My eyes widened as I realized who the voice belonged to. The door to the back of the van opened and standing in front of me was Lucy's dad, my grandfather. He looked rough since I last saw him. His face looked dirty and his beard wasn't shaved like before.

He reached in at me and I kicked his hands away. One kick landed in his face, right against his nose. He looked at Terrance with anger. "Grab her."

I screamed through the gag and moved my arms to make it harder to be grabbed. I managed to elbow Terrance in the side before he grabbed me. My wings were crushed between us and I tried not to show the pain on my face.

Lucy's dad came closer to me and I saw he had a towel just like the man that had found me in Aryan's room.

My eyes widened. He'd been in the house. With me there. With Lucy. Was Lucy okay? Was I going to be okay?

He pushed the towel against my mouth. "We're almost there, baby girl."

I tried to stop breathing but Lucy's dad was waiting me out. He knew what I was doing and he wasn't going to let me win.

I slumped back against Terrance as my eyes closed. Seconds later, the van doors slammed shut and we were moving again.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

The bed was comfortable. The blankets were soft and the pillow was firm enough that it held my head at the right position. It wasn't too hot nor too cold in the room. Everything was perfect.

But it was all so wrong.

I opened my eyes and nothing was right. Nothing was the same. I wasn't in my bedroom or Aryan's or even on the couch at home. I wasn't at home at all.

The bed I was in was a hospital bed with rails along the sides. The floor was tiled and the door was to my left. Everything was either gray or white and it made my head hurt.

The door opened and Lucy's dad walked into the room. He was pulling a metal tray behind him.

"I'm glad you're awake. We have a lot to discuss."

I pushed myself up and kicked the blankets off. "What do you want from me?"

"I just want to talk."

"You could have called me. You could have talked to me through my dreams. If we share the same blood, you could have found a number of ways to contact me without kidnapping me."

He left the tray at the door and walked over to a chair that sat beside the bed. He turned it around and sat on it, facing me. "When my wings were taken from me, all powers I had were removed as well."

I pulled the pillow against my chest. "What did you do?"

He rubbed his beard, his eyes on me. I knew he wasn't going to harm me right then but having his eyes on me really creeped me out.

"I hurt people and God punished me for it."

"You can still live forever?" It was so unfair that angels could be killed even though Lucy's dad was left to roam the Earth.

"Yes. I suppose I'm living a personal hell but I try to look on the bright side."

I rolled my eyes.

"You don't believe me?"

"I do. But I find it hard to sympathize."

"You were once in your own personal hell. From what I hear, you tricked everyone around you to make things interesting for yourself."

"How do you know that?"

"I have connections."

"Couldn't you have just watched me from my house? Did you really have to bring me here?"

He got up and walked to the side of the bed. "I need you, Julia."

"Why me? Why not Lucy?"

He narrowed his eyes when I said Lucy's name but didn't change his tone. "She's too far gone. But you're not. I know you can be the daughter I always wanted."

"What do you want from me?"

"I want you to help me."

"Help you with what?" There was no helping him with anything. He was deranged and messed up and I wasn't going to be a part of that.

"I have a plan to get rid of all angels. I want to get my revenge on God."

I wanted to laugh at him. Did he really believe that he could eliminate all angels?

I shook my head and got to my feet on the opposite side of the bed. "I'm sorry but I can't help you with that."

"Julia, I know you're a reasonable girl. Can't we find some middle ground here?"

"Do you not see that I'm an angel? All angels were born that way. We didn't choose to be like this."

"There is a way to reverse it and give people their lives back."

"This is my life. I don't want to change it."

His expression changed and he looked sad. "Your mother has fed you lies. I can help you find the truth."

"I don't think you even know what that is."

"Julia, please just hear me out."

I shook my head and took a step back. My back hit the wall. "I can't help you." I turned around and it wasn't a wall at all. It was a window. I pushed it open and jumped out of it in just seconds. My practice with Aryan helped immensely. If I ever saw him again, I'd have to thank him.

I pushed my wings as hard as I could, moving as fast as I could away from the building. It looked like a warehouse but the room I'd been in showed something different. Several cars and vans sat against the building. Several people were walking around, some glancing up at me.

Just as I thought I was in the clear, I hit some invisible fence and my entire body lit up in flames. Internally, of course. My eyes rolled back and I fell from the sky.
