Looking back she couldn’t believe how life turned out. Everything happened for a reason; well that was what her mom would always say. Before she met him she was an A grade student in most subjects she was opinionative, beautiful, outspoken and was all around the type of girl everyone wants to be friend with but with being a teenager comes peer pressure. He spoke to her once asking to borrow a pencil to which she gave him, but apparently that meant he liked her according to her friends. Soon she started to see it as well as he would ask every day from then on and he would stare at her during the day. When her friends saw him their opinions changed because he didn’t fit their standards which broke her heart as she had begun to fall for him. That’s why he left, because she liked him and anyone could tell it was obvious but that didn’t sit well with her friends as they bullied him on his appearance, personality and approach to life. Soon enough he stares became less frequent and he always had a pencil, but that didn’t stop the young brunette from longing after him. Prom came closer and being too nice to turn her friend down carol expected making the worst decision of her life. She fell for her friend. She fell for Ed Peletier. He was nicer than nice and the perfect fit for her but her heart still belonged to her crush only to be cornered by him and told that he is leaving and he can’t stand her as she is as plastic as the rest she made his life hell. That day was the day her mistakes started trying to mend her heart she decided that she loved her boyfriend even if she knew she didn't and when she told him he was over the moon making her smile knowing that she made him happy. Life with him made her happier than she could remember, he was sweet and loving. When she turned 18 and it was time to graduate she had been persuaded by him not to leave the state and go to the university her heart was set on but to stay and move in with him. soon after they were married his proposal wasn’t much and the wedding was tiny and cheap as they were broke but they were happy. Blinded by love she saw nothing bad about this even when the mental abuse started. Realisation only started to occur when she was banned from her friends and family, told what to wear, how to look, where and when to go places. She denied that she was one of those girls that was abused and couldn't get out but she knew she was as soon as he hit her on that Sunday when she had gone to get feminine toiletries too embarrassed to tell him only making him angry. Months later the abuse became frequent only slowing when she shared the news of her pregnancy, he was ecstatic slightly pissed off due to the gender but he couldn’t wait for his own baby. Sophia grew and he couldn’t stand her as she cried and ate and needed all the attention, she was never given that attention she craved as her mom was not allowed. By the time Sophia was 8 her dad, Ed was constantly violent against her mother, Carol and they were a broken family because of all these reasons.
