It was one am and Carol had just been awoken by being knocked off of the double bed she was sharing by the large dog Daryl had introduced as Jango, he had taken her spot and cuddled close to Lizzie who was in a deep sleep. Grabbing the pillow Carol stalked across the landing into Daryls bedroom nudging him awake, groggily he turned to face her groaning questioning her "your overly large dog has stole my bed" Carol explained grumpily, she raised her eyebrows in shock when he lifted his duvet up inviting her into the bed.

Not knowing what to do Carol climbed into the warm bed with her back facing the sleepy man only to be pulled hard against him whilst he spooned her. She felt his breathing deepen as he fell back into his slumber but Carol couldn't stop thinking about the man she was pushed up against, she felt every muscle even every tiny movement he made. Sadness consumed her, this could have been everyday life if she didn't let him go, let him brake her heart if she would have made the first move but instead she married Ed making her deal with beatings, mental and physical abuse.

Waking up Daryl felt really warm and felt the body heat of another person in his bed, sharply turning his head towards the new body he saw that it was Carol as memories of his sleepy state returned. Standing he stared down at her rubbing his face in fustration and stormed out of his room, running strate into the blonde child who was walking out of the bathroom accompanied by Jango. Appologising he continued to the kitchen and sat at the table to continue rubbing his face unaware of what to do, he began to relive the memories from high school making a smile appear on his face.

A loud slam awoke him from his daydream as he looked up and saw the quiet woman swearing as the cupboard she was looking in slammed shut louder than she wanted. Apologising she reached for the cereal and began to pour herself, Lizzie and Daryl a bowl whilst she apologised for disturbing the daydreaming man. She pushed the bowl in front of him as she began to eat only for him to glare at and push away even though she could hear his stomach growl with hunger letting sadness consume her once more.

Dropping Lizzie off at school gave Daryl a weird feeling and he was unsure if he liked it or not and sped off to the station to help out more on the case.

Walking the hallways of the school anxiety consumed the little girl as she was pushed while people rushed past her with one pushing too hard making her fall to the ground, looking up she saw a hand in front of her. Taking the hand she felt the person pull her up making her stare into the face of the cutest boys she had ever seen, his face looked grim and miserable like hers leading her to guess that they were both grieving "I'm Lizzie" she introduced holding her hand out, she was rejected as he walked away mumbling "Carl".

Carol had no idea what to do, she couldn't leave, he didn't have any books or anything to do which lead her to her current state of daydreaming, only to be disturbed by an obnoxiously loud and cheerful knock at the door. Looking through the peephole she saw a young girl maybe in her 20's with long brown hair and skimpy clothing wearing a huge smile, opening the door she watched as the smile fell from the young girls face. "I'm looking for Daryl" she started snidely looking Carol up and down judging her "I left my phone here the other night when we were you know" she smile smuggly as she pushed past Carol and retrieved herphone from the side table near the door "Tell him Brooke said hi".

Shutting the door Carol felt the tears slide down her face as she realised anything she remembered about Daryl was a lie, he played her in high school and he wasn't interested in her now. She could never compare to girls like that and she wasn't going to try, she accepted the fact that she will never have Daryl Dixon.
