My angel holds a shotgun

The next day Carol woke bright and early and started to prepare breakfast, it was a Saturday and they would be having Lunch with the Grimes and Shane meaning that she wouldn't have to cook. Eating her toast a smile blessed her face as she heard the small yawn escape her daughter as she made her way to the kitchen. Talking Carol smiled in pure joy that her and her daughter was free to be themselves laughing and joking at nothing and everything acting like this was normal life. Dressing the duo felt free and relaxed two emotions they had not felt in years. As Carol slide her top down her upper body her finger skated across the scar on her body that she had since she was a teenager caused by the man who protected her.

The school project was pointless and a burden that Carol hated as her partner was useless and wouldn't help leaving her to walk the woods by herself. Sunlight shone through small spots in between the branches and leaves crunching on all the fallen ones making noise by stepping on them and twigs. The crunching got louder as time passed with the wind blowing her brown hair making it stick to her dry lips, stopping to bend down and reach the flower she had been searching for but the crunching never stopped. Panicking Carol stood and began to run hearing the breaking of leaves speed up behind her as her follower began to run as well scaring her. Blocking her way was a log and as she jumped it she missed and fell falling onto the ground, screaming Carol was out of options as she attempted to get up. Hearing a thud she began to drag herself through the dead leaves but was stopped when she saw Daryl standing with a concerned look on his face holding shotgun holding out his hand to pull her up. Seeing the confusion and fear on her face "A big lug was followin' ya knocked him out with this" Daryl explained proudly showing his shotgun to the scared teenager. Taking his hand she was pulled up and hugged tightly by the man that had saved her, she was tightly pressed against his body making her side scrape against his blade ripping her top and scaring her upper body. As she pulled away wincing he apologised looking at the blood that was leaving her, ripping his dirty top and tying it around her to stop the bleeding. He then proceeded to walk her home checking every corner not wanting harm to come her way.

Walking over to the Grimes house Carol and Sophia walked through the garage like normal and stopped at the sight of Rick Shane and Daryl all gathered together. As they went to carry on walking Carol was stopped by Rick calling her name and watched Sophia skip into the garden to join Carl. "Hey Carol" Daryl’s gruff voice spoke out "can I talk to you for a sec" he continued.
