Don't Give Up

**Really old poem I figured I should upload**

A second feels like forever when you're standing on the edge

A breath feels like a razor digging deep into your skin

Death knocks against the door

He hears you scream, "I can't take this anymore!"

You've tried so hard and all you got

Was a heart full of pain

As you drag it across your skin

It leaves its stain

But not on anything anyone can see

In a sad little way it sets you free

For  moment the grief is gone

Then it all feels so wrong

You hate it all

You hate yourself

The heart you left up on the shelf

You need to fight to keep yourself alive

Stripped of the things that made you strive

You feel the wounds you think you can't mend

But you have to believe this isn't the end

Stand strong and keep your head up

And please, for me, don't ever give up
