Chapter 7 The twist in the tale

Divya wore a baby pink frock while Alisha wore a  blue sari for the farewell. They both show their identity cards. Divya says "Honey told she is coming to pick me up. Let me write her name in the register."

She asks the security for the visitor's register and writes 'Megha Gupta' in guest's name and 'Divyakshi Deshmukh' in students name. Alisha says in a frown "You never told me that Honey's name is Megha Gupta."

Divya too frowns and says "You never asked."

Though they are late, Priya and Naina have managed to save two seats in the front for them. Naina passes on something to Divya and Alisha. Divya sees that it is her wedding card. 'Naina weds Kabir'. 

She bends over and shakes her hand and says with a smile "I would have hugged you and choked you."

Naina smiles and says "Next month 26th in Chandigarh. You don't come I swear I will kill you."

Divya smirks and says "You think I won't come. We are the ones who will dance on your wedding."

The show starts and their juniors Rajveer and Raman come on the stage and welcome them. Just then Divya notices Arjun standing at the side along with the other teachers dressed formally with his spectacles.

He too looks at her. Divya makes the shape of spectacles with her thumb and index finger of both hands and keeps it near her eye and shakes her head gesturing him to remove his glasses. He quickly removes them and stuffs them in his back pocket. Divya shows a thumbs up and Arjun bows.

The program begins. Divya's juniors start dancing on the stage for the recent dance numbers. Though she pretends to be enjoying, after she saw Arjun Divya's thoughts are distracted. After few programs the principal comes onto the dais to distribute a memento, bouquet  and certificates to everyone. 

After twenty minutes Divya's turn comes. She goes onto the stage to collect her certificate. While collecting the dean says "Good improvement in academics. Mr. Deshmukh will be happy about it."

Divya smiles and leaves the stage. After the felicitation ceremony they go to the buffet. Divya calls Honey. She picks up the call. Divya asks "Where are you, you told you would join me in the ceremony but it's almost over."

Divya could hear the sound of traffic along with Honey's voice "It will take twenty minutes for me. There is a lot of traffic here."

Divya cuts the call and starts eating. She sees Arjun with Satya and the other teachers. He too looks at her and smiles.

Alisha and Divya complete their food. They start moving towards the gate. Alisha asks "Where is Honey?"

Divya sulks and says "She is struck in Mumbai traffic which is very hard to clear."

They both keep moving outside the gate to Alisha's house which is in the opposite lane. Just then Naina and Priya join them. Priya says "You leave us and go, idiots."

Divya smiles and says "I thought you know Alisha's house right so we thought of going. Just then she hears someone call 'Divya'. She turns back to see Arjun standing there. She goes and asks "What is it?"

Arjun extends a kerchief and says "You forgot your kerchief there."

Divya takes it and says "Oh thank you". She goes back when he again calls her. She turns back and he says "You even forgot your bouquet."

Divya takes it and says "Thank you" again. She looks at the bouquet and finds a remote tugged in it. It has on and off on it. She turns back to Arjun who indicates her to press the remote. She presses the 'on' button.

As soon as she presses it, crackers start bursting in the sky which illuminate the sky completely. Balloons launch into the sky with a banner 'I love you Divya'. Divya looks shocked and astonished. She looks at her friends who are also in the same shock. She turns back to Arjun who is already on his knees and opens his arms. Divya runs into his arms. He stands up and lifts her. He spins her. 

Slowly he drops her a little until their faces are only an inch away from each other. Divya slowly whispers "Why didn't you tell that you love me on the day I proposed you?"

Arjun smiles and says "Because I wanted to confess it this grandly."

They both laugh. Divya asks "Why were you avoiding me that day and why didn't you look into my eyes while talking?"

Arjun slowly says "Because I can't stop my feelings if I look into your eyes". They look into each other's eyes and slowly Divya feels her lips touching Arjun's. She could feel a shot of cold and warmth run through her spine and goosebumps on her hands and neck. 

Slowly Arjun drops her down. Divya notices a wave of shock in Arjun's face. She turns back to see Honey standing there with the same shock on her face too. She listens Arjun mutter "Meghana?"

Honey also mutters "Krishna?"

Divya realizes that Honey is Meghana. The girl Arjun loved before he came here. Divya understands everything ''Why didn't I get it? Honey had a lover named Krishna whom she left and married Ashish. Arjun sir's full name is Krishna Arjun Prasad. Arjun also had a lover Meghana who married someone else. Why couldn't I relate it? Megha Gupta is only Meghana."

Arjun and Meghana move towards each other. He looks at Divya and Meghana and again Divya. Divya asks "Your name was Megha Gupta right, but his lover's name is Meghana?"

Meghana replies "I changed my name for the hotel. The name should be stylish right?"

Arjun says "Meghana how are you? Why are you here? I... I thought you were in Delhi with your.. "

Just then Divya interrupts "There are lots of question and answers to be done. Let's go to a cafe and discuss all this there."
Arjun and Meghana nod.
