Chapter 12

Divya and Meghana are back into their rooms in Pune. Arjun is in an adjacent suit room. Divya liked the view of the bustling but beautiful city from the window. She went and stood near the window peering out while Meghana went to fresh up. The six days have passed like six minutes.

Divya knocked on the door of Arjun's room. "Come in" Arjun called. Divya went inside. Arjun was sitting on the couch already changed into his tracks. She goes and sits in the chair facing him. 

"So...what are the plans for today?" Divya asked shyly. Arjun nods his head and says "No, actually I have an interview tomorrow morning so, I just need to prepare. I am sorry. You guys can go out somewhere."

Divya shakes her head and says "No, no. It's OK we don't mind staying at home. Anyway it's evening so it doesn't matter. You carry on with your preparations, we won't disturb."

Divya extends her hand and says "All the best for your interview." Arjun shakes and says "Thank you. And anyway I need all the best for something else too. It's decision time tomorrow."

Divya's face turns red and pale. She nods her head and leaves from the door to the lobby instead of the door to her room. She goes to the lift and goes to the third floor. She reaches the bar and sits on a couch.

A waiter comes to her. "A bottle of beer." The waiter nods obediently and leaves. After five minutes he comes with a bottle of beer. She gulps it down. She stops and sits staring at the wall. She picks up her phone and calls Alisha. She picks up the call in two to three rings. 

"Hello Divya what is it, is everything good?"

"No, I am tensed. Tomorrow is the judgment day. Arjun will choose among us both. I am really tensed Alisha. I want him to choose me."

Alisha says in a hurried voice "Calm down Divya everything will be good. Whom do you think will he choose, according to the behavior he had since this whole week?"

   Divya catches her head and says "I don't know. He was formal like a good friend with both of us, don't know what is his strategy. I am nervous."

Alisha says "OK OK wait till tomorrow. Be cool. Don't be tense. OK then bye. Calm down."

"Bye". Divya gulps down the rest of the beer. She goes to the billing counter and pays the money. The waiter asks "Love failure mam?"

Divya gives a stern look and leaves without replying. She goes to the lift and goes to the fifth floor to her room. She goes to her room. Before she knocks the door she hears Meghana talking to someone, probably on the phone.

"...I can't forget him after this. It is hard for me now. Why should I marry Ashish, why couldn't we convince our dad, why did he fall in love with Divya, why did I meet him again?"

She pauses while the other person on the phone is talking. She continues "No it would be another eternity for me to forget him. It is very hard for me. But I feel bad for Divya too. But.."

The other person speaks again for a long time. Meghana then finally says in a tiered tone "OK I will wait till tomorrow. Bye."

After sometime Divya knocks the door. Meghana opens it. They both smile at each other. Divya is shocked by Meghana's word. 

"I am sleepy. I will get to sleep Honey" Divya says her tone plain.

"Fine" Meghana says and smiles at her. Divya gets onto the bed and turns to the other side not facing Meghana.

'She has faced a lot in her life, I think she deserves Arjun'   

Divya cuts of her thought and tries to find some sleep.
